Very disappointed the High Court have ruled the gvt's decision to authorise the use of PAVA spray in 3 YOIs is lawful, following a challenge by @thehowardleague.bsky.social

‼️Nacro stands with 37 organisations opposing this development and we will continue to monitor the situation.
We promise to monitor closely the use of PAVA spray against children in prison.

The High Court ruled today that the government’s decision to authorise the weapon’s rollout was lawful.

- High rates of illicit drug use, violence and self-harm
- Poor time out of cell for 40% of men
