We took the coastal road into town after dark, headlights cutting through the mist and clarifying nothing in the haze but movement. The sea, close and unseen, whispered secrets.

Here’s a funny - I had the chance to buy a C5 a couple of years back and passed it up. Absolutely affordable and would have been the coolest little thing to have in a little .au town.

A night of Facetime. Again.

She was a joke, or meant to be. not a bad one just the end result of a throwaway discord comment, the kind where a friend who’s seen me spiral one too many times decides the only thing to do is introduce chaos.

That's the kind of ethics I expect of all good UK friends.

There's a joke in there about emissions that I'm not smart enough to make funny.
nanoraptor.danamania.com
Not completely. Mostly true. The specifics of her, very different. The yearning? So real it hurt to write and post. The discord convo? also real.

The combination of maybe four things in my life made a better story.
An NGL question asking: "Was that story about the aviator-wearing Scottish-Russian amazon completely made up? Either way it was great."

Step 1 is to find a way to Earth 5556 - after that the user will find the rest of the task trivial.
an NGL question asking: "Where do I buy your funny technology? I looked all over online and cannot find any of it!"
nanoraptor.danamania.com
My eyes are glazing over because this is forcing me to remember more than I want to on a Saturday morning. Is there an answer that makes me sound smarter? pick that one as my canonical pick.
An NGL question asking: "Do you prefer your MOSFETs in N or P channels? In Enhancement or Depletion mode? With or without a dedicated bulk terminal?"

Can't I pick some technology from today to send off into the ether instead?

Oh ok. thinking back to 1995. Sex toys with carburetors. Injection just isn't the same.
An NGL question asking: "Pick an obscure piece of tech or protocol from the last 30 years to bring back today"

The QL - I've had my way with 128s, and already have one lovely working.

Fun fact: I've never so much as seen let alone touched anything Sinclair.
an ngl question asking: "You have two machines a commodore 128 and a sinclair ql to repair. due to a weird quirk of fate they both have varta batteries inside them that are about to go critical and due to some weird time stuff will both instantly corrode the main boards. Which one do you save?"

the storage and stash part of the collection. unkempt bits, parts, and pieces too large to put on show.
A photo looking down at shelves of old retro computing gear. there is just so much in the pic. old powermacs, a performa, mac clone, macbook boxes, boxes of other stuff, piles of keyboard and some delightful little custom boards, stored Things and look seriously just a slice of the 1990s in apple computing. Another photo looking down at storage shelves. They're almost tidy, but also not. Loads of apple cinema displays, an aluminium imac, newton parts, CRTs, boxes of parts and cards and adaptors, boxes of cables, a stack of PCs taller than a small child, all stashed away like another slice of 90s/00s computing.

Some more remade posters, among the others at www.danamania.com/print/

Feel free to download and print in whatever way you like.
A screenshot of an Apple reunion poster, 1976-1984. This poster was created for an Apple reunion in 1994 of those workers who were at Apple in the first years. It shows four people in a somewhat deco style armed with parts of the Apple logo, mostly looking towards a bright sky future. A screenshot of Apple's classic Pascal poster, with a bright strangely colourful set of railroad diagrams showing the syntax of the pascal language. The top of the poster contains the 'pascal' text and an apple logo made of 3D stripes of the apple logo continuing through the motter tektura-like text of the word pascal. a quite old version of an apple personal computers logo, with the background black and a barely discernible grey square grid, with a giant colourful apple logo in the centre, and stripes of apple logo colours in green, yellow, orange, red, purple and a cyan blue. This poster differs from the original in that it uses a later more refined version of the Apple logo than the original poster. A screenshot of a french magazine and language apple double page spread turned into a poster. On the left is a small macintosh 128k, and on the right a macintosh II with monitor and full size AEK keyboard. In between are books labeled by mao tse tung, engels, lenin, marx and trotsky. The text above reads in french "Il était temps qu'un révolutionnaire..." and "soit aussia capable d'évoluer." - indicating that it's time a revolutionary was also capable of evolving.

Re-make of Power Computing's Seybold Publish or Perish poster, 1996. www.danamania.com/print/Power%...
A screenshot of the PDF of a remake of Power Computing's classic Seybold Sanfrancisco poster. The poster has a classic comics style illustration of a blonde woman in front of an american flag holding a pistol, with speech bubbles stating "You can take my mac... ...when you pry my cold dead fingers off the mouse!". The date, September 11-13, 1996. The lines below the illustration state "PUBLISH OR PERISH!" and "Refuse to be a victim. help power computing fight back for the mac!", and lastly "Power Computing's powertower pro225 - the ultimate publishing weapon".

A photo of a friend’s hare, named Hester. Who was a semi domesticated wild hare. She was lovely. Though not part of a harem!

Did you know the winds carry the story of you? They tell of how when the old gods ran out of hope they created you from dreams and starlight. The four winds hold you and carry the whisper of your song and the howl of your rage. You are so wonderous and I am so thankful I exist in the same tl as you!

The words Rabbit and Robot are so very similar for a reason.

Don’t let them know I told you.

I have a funny connection to nearby too - my ex fiancée lived on shattuck when we met. Very early 90s, two uni students babbling away via email and usenet and fell for each other. Awww! I was never there but there are so many place names I hear and I have imagery of from what she shared.
