Conservative monopoly on local TV stations is a national crisis
Fantastic example of how poor the coverage of political events is by local news stations: no mention of Trump until the very end, no articulation of any specific complaints, interview of lone protestor countered by longer time given to GOP hack who calls them anti-American

Over 30 minutes into the actual march, still going strong
Easily 10x the crowd in Albuquerque for No Kings vs. the June protest
Assuming you mean in terms of the electoral/political operation — policy-wise, Democrats this century have disproportionately favored investments in GOP areas, sometimes to the detriment of their own actual supporters
Whoa whoa whoa — do you only mean American movies?
It played Telluride too, so just a Canadian premiere
Also loved this in Telluride — that centerpiece dance/play sequence is such a knockout. Given how stellar Ahmed is, really impressive how well some of the supporting performances manage to keep up with him
Two recs from Telluride that it sounds like you didn’t get to: Aniel Karia’s Hamlet is such a fun, creative adaptation with a truly terrific performance from Riz Ahmed; Cherien Dabis’ All That’s Left of You is a politically relevant, surprisingly epic tearjerker that really worked our audience over
Seconded! Ahmed is great and the film is legit one of the best and most original Shakespeare adaptations I’ve ever seen. The centerpiece dance/play is an absolute showstopper
Are there going to be events where people can get some good hang time with you?
You Were Never Really Here, on the artsier side
Though this adds an odd lack of designation for Orwell: 2+2=5, which should be listed as a US Premiere if TIFF’s status is correct
A bunch of likely Telluride confirmations in today’s Toronto and NYFF announcements: Jay Kelly (Baumbach), Resurrection (Bi), Mastermind (Reichardt), Cover-Up (Poitras), Landmarks (Martel), and a modern adaptation of Hamlet with Riz Ahmed I wasn’t aware of before this morning. Exciting!
Do they announce tomorrow?
Ah, I see… Sundance wasn’t listed on the IMDb page, and his last couple of docs appeared at Telluride, so thought it was pretty likely
What about Daniel Roger’s Tuner?
They scored a run on the next AB!

I cannot express this enough: If and when the tide turns away from fascism, you cannot mistake a ceasefire for peace. They never, ever want peace. You must persecute those responsible to the ends of the earth. You must make future generations fear a repeat of their fate.
