there is an employment crisis among trans women and there always has been, but good luck getting people to see it
Still living this life after almost 8 months. A professional I know who works almost exclusively with trans people said almost all of them are unemployed.

It’s a straight fight between the Green Party and Reform.

New post: LABOUR'S SECTION 28 IS HERE - ACT NOW.

I explain how the Labour government's proposed revisions to the guidance on "keeping children in education" are designed to erase trans children in England. But it's not a done deal - there is plenty we can do to oppose this.
Labour’s Section 28 is here – act now

This is the most important thing you will read this weekend. Make sure you do and that you act on it. This is not a drill.

Labour’s Trans Section 28 is shameful and disgusting and, more than any else, demonstrates how low the party has fallen. Every Labour MP needs to feel the heat about this.

Also note that @theguardian.com didn't bother to mention the reason NFWI originally gave, that they were threatened with legal action, didn't want to discriminate but thought they had to to avoid lawfare. They should have consulted members on resisting the threats

The Women’s Institute was pressured to exclude trans women by the threat of litigation brought and paid for by JKR’s legal fund.
So now the newly trans-hostile WI groups are haemorrhaging members and many groups are folding, closing opportunities for all women.
Well done JK and the GCs, eh?

Decades ago I used to collect glasses at the Black Cap, Camden!

11 years ago after it closed down, we set up a campaign to reopen it!

I long ago got distracted but these legends (with others!) stuck it out for years. Delighted to say from next month our LGBT+ pub is back! 🎉

Is it feminism when you kill women's groups because you hate trans women? Sex Matters et al say YES!
At least 12 WI groups are closing or considering closure after the organisation barred transgender women from membership.

Members say more groups are likely to close, and that the federation’s decision has opened up a toxic, traditionalist culture that will deter younger women from joining.

R*ped “Underage women”…!?

Errr @ashleyzacharias.bsky.social, please don’t join in the euphemisers.

The term you need is “children”.
The President of the United States raped underage women.
Attorney General Pam Bondi has seen the proof in the Epstein files and doesn't care.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.

But sadly, the "Brexit years" are not over... until we rejoin the EU.

So instead of these endless talks about talks about piecemeal increased cooperation with Europe, let's rejoin!

More of this please!

It really shouldn't be rare to hear humanity and empathy in politics.
“If you’ve lived in Greater Manchester all your life like I have, or you came here yesterday — if you’re part of our community and you’re mucking in, you’re one of us.”

Our candidate for Gorton and Denton, Hannah Spencer, rejects the demonisation of immigrants and calls for politics that unite.

Effectively the Starmer government is allowing the worst, most disgusting right-wing bigots to use their financial-legal power to end the basic human right to freedom of association - at least for women.
The UK government has successfully made it harder for women to organise, find camaraderie and share knowledge, while simultaneously ensuring only the vilest most bigoted women are left in a position to do so.
All by targeting and excluding trans women. It’s as clever as it is disgusting.

One of the people responsible for the PB ban, her book (hardback unread past chapter 1, originally £20) is now reduced to £2 in a charity shop, alongside dog-eared Reacher & Dan Brown paperbacks selling for £2.50 - £3.

If I have the spoons, it’s time for a full deconstruction of this drivel.

Both the Greens and Reform are soft on Putin and soft on NATO.

The greens want to pull out of NATO and Reform’s Leader says Putin is the leader he admires the most.

Labour takes a different approach: a NATO-first strategy, increasing defence spending and renewing our forces.
