Here is a beautiful beach in the middle of nowhere. (Gwaii Haanas, Haida Gwaii.

And what happens to it next? The island's landfill cannot handle the amount of debris that floats in.
Cleaning it up isn't enough. We have to stop letting so much plastic get into the ocean in the first place.

I met my best critique friends through 12x12 and we swap stories whenever we need to.

Posting lots of drafts and doing tons of critiques on 12x 12 was a great way to find people who encourage you and really *get* your work.
