If
Arsenal beat Sunderland &
City lose to Liverpool &
Arsenal keep their 2.24 pt/game pace

Then
Arsenal need 9 wins & 2 draws (room for 2 losses) from remaining 13 games to get to 85 pts
&
City will have to win every single one of their remaining 13 games to get to 86 pts

Apparently I'm not as tactically savvy in the ways of football as Rosenior. I completely failed to his masterplan coming together.
Chelsea will probably come out like a rat with their ass on fire. This could easily turn into a basketball/WWE game. Peter Banks has his job cut out for him today.

Big game for Hincapie & Eze to prove they can perform at a higher level of pressure. At least we have plenty of legs in the front 3.
Teams at the Emirates.

#AFC Kepa; Timber, Saliba, Gabriel, Hincapie; Zubimendi, Rice; Madueke, Eze, Martinelli; Gyokeres

#CFC Sanchez; Gusto, Fofana, Chalobah, Hato, Cucurella; Caicedo, Santos, Fernandez; Delap, Joao Pedro

The moment Rosenior thought the game was turning in Chelsea's favor

Troy Deeney just realized that when a team is a goal down in a two-legged tie, they should set out to win the match. Brilliant stuff mate.

Still mad about this. No idea how a functioning adult with two eyes and a brain doesn't see the obvious trip after Martinelli wins the ball back.
Studs up with the first leg, followed by the trip up with the second leg!!!

Penalty all the way…

Rosenior? More like Rofreshman.

That was easily one of the funniest football matches in a very long time

Put that in your time-wasting cheating pipes and smoke it ya fucking chelsea bastards

Hats off to Gabriel Martinelli. Played all game and is still charging that down to create a turnover.

Amazing how the commentary has said nothing at all about Arsenal's defense despite holding a team that must win to one shot on target
February 3, 2026 at 9:48 PM
That missed penalty yet another "refs didn't want to ruin the spectacle" call?
February 3, 2026 at 9:45 PM
yeah that's a penalty

If you didn't know better, listening to these commentators would make you think Arsenal were flailing about and lost at sea while losing this tie to a magnificent Chelsea

They're gonna make Arteta stand in a soundproofed glass box soon aren't they

On the bright side, Peter Bankes has already sent off two Chelsea players this season - Sanchez v United & Cucurella v Fulham.

The latter being the most refreshing since Cucurella is an insufferable clown who usually gets away with murder.

As good as this Arsenal team is, imagine them with the confidence and swagger that comes with a league trophy (or two?) under their belt 🤩

If Arsenal are the Worst Premier League Champions in History then...

City & Villa are Worst Runners Up in PL History

Chelsea & United Worst 4th Place Trophy Challengers in PL History

Liverpool Worst Reigning Champions in PL History

Use this information wisely.

Couldn't agree more with this thread
I think freezing out Lewis-Skelly is a massive mistake, by the way. I will continue to advocate for him until the end of time. I sort of feel Mikel has an unfair question markt next to his name. Which is weird to me.

Good deal for the player and clubs

This deal gets worse by the day
There is no recall clause in Ethan Nwaneri's loan move to Marseille.

Updated (w/ correct math) after MW24

Arsenal averaging 2.21 pts/game
City: 1.96
Villa: 1.91

If Arsenal keep current pace for 84 pts then...

Arsenal can win 10, draw 1 & lose 3 to hit 84 pts

City need 12 wins & 2 draws (or 13 wins and 1 loss) to get to 85

Villa need 13 wins & 1 draw to get to 85
Updated after 23 games:

Arsenal averaging 2.17 pts/game
City & Villa averaging 2 pts/game
United: 1.65
Chelsea: 1.61
Liverpool: 1.57

If we keep current pace to 82 points (rounding down) then:

City & Villa need 2.47 pts/game to get to 83
United: 3 pts/game
Chelsea & Liverpool 3+

Improbable.
Arsenal are averaging 2.27 pts per game

City are averaging 1.95 pts per game

If we keep our pace to finish on 86 pts, City will need to average 2.75 pts per match to finish above us on 87 pts

That'd be 14 wins and 2 draws or 15 wins and 1 loss from their remaining games

Breathe Arsenal fans.

115 & City... where have I heard that before?
Manchester City failed to win a match they led by 2+ goals in at half time for the first time since April 2018 (v Man Utd). Before today, they had won on each of the last 115 occasions when leading by 2+ goals at the break (all competitions). (Opta)
