Books (most genres), music, and a lot of, mostly Canadian and Ottawa, politics thrown in. PWHL (Go Charge!).

Across Ottawa, from fairs and markets to townhalls and meetings, I’ve been hearing the same thing: people are frustrated and want a new direction for our city. We need a city that works, with reliable transit, strong services, repaired roads and community centres.

Been one hell of a great season @pwhlcharge.bsky.social ! You should be proud.

Me, well, it turns out I might like hockey when women are playing.

See you next season.

The City of Ottawa would be something worse than incompetent if they shrink the Lansdowne arena.

The Ottawa Charge need a bigger space, not a smaller one. The team is a force. It’s a community.

Keep the game accessible, Ottawa. Don’t blow Lansdowne, again.

Well would you look at that! The Charge is going to the finals.
Well deserved. (Also we need to give Philips a raise.)

Une dernière défaite pour La Victoire. They chose this.

Bring on the Frost.

In my defense, I was bored and left unattended.

I blame @jleiper.bsky.social

Sort of. Some people buy shoes, I buy books.

@thespanielstale.bsky.social needs to stop buying cool stuff. Or whatever the opposite of that is.

Did you know, that you can be PM without a seat in Parliament, but you can’t be Leader of the Opposition?

A propos de rien du tout.

Pretty sure it was worth being this tired.

So how sleepy will I be tomorrow?

Gotta know if Poilievre loses his seat.

Nat and I were in and out to vote at Hintonburg - poll 604 didn’t have a line! Probably 20 minutes wait for the other poll. Ran into some our favourite fellow voters. Always good to see @catmckenney.bsky.social and Catherine!

Did a vote, then hit up @thespanielstale.bsky.social for our Saturday book haul. Li Charmaine Anne was there for a book signing. Pretty good Saturday morning date with @jleiper.bsky.social

Wellington street West is still very narrow. It’s a bit of a mess. Buses are stuck. Why we don’t ban parking until everything is cleared is beyond me. #ottawa

(Also if you are using the even-narrower side streets maybe be mindful that people live there.)

Ottawa has long abided by international trade agreements in its procurement, often to the frustration of local businesses. Trump's capriciousness has created an opportunity to prioritize local buying and business development. Working with other levels of government, we should go further.
I will work with councillors on a motion for Finance Committee on Tuesday to ensure our buying decisions at the City of Ottawa prioritize Canadian products and services over American counterparts.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.
