If you try to stir up racial hatred and spread your poisonous worldview through misinformation, you deserve to be called out.

97 years ago today, women finally won equal voting rights.

The Dearsley Window, tucked away in Parliament, honours the suffragettes and the fight they led.

Their struggle changed history but the fight for equality isn’t over

We’ve seen the deadly cost of such radicalisation—we lost Jo Cox and Sir David Amess to it.

I have tried to ignore it, but I fear it has reached such dangerous levels, I no longer can. (7)

The lies and hate being spread about me online have reached dangerous levels.

I have seen posts, where ordinary people believe this vile, false narrative about who I am, due to this misinformation. (6)

I was forced into marriage at 15. I’ve spent my life campaigning for victims of abuse and exploitation.

I would never condone such vile crimes.

Yet online, a tweet has been twisted and viewed millions of times to spread a complete lie, and sow seeds of targeted HATRED against me. (5)

In 2022, BBC Shared Data Unit found I received nearly 5,000 'toxic' tweets in just 6 weeks.

The truth is, this level of abuse has continued since 2017—driven by accounts twisting a tweet to push the false, vile claim that I’d justify horrific crimes. (4)

There are currently multiple ongoing investigations linked to this tweet.

In 2020, Leave EU was ordered by the courts to apologise to me and set the record straight after they also defamed me due to this very tweet. (3)

In 2019, a man was convicted for threatening violence due to believing the misinformation spread online due to this tweet.

In his email to me, he said: 'I will do serious time if I could get you' and 'be careful where you go and your family.' (2)

This Has Gone Beyond Abuse – It’s Now Dangerous. If It Doesn’t Stop, How Will It End?

In 2017, I shared a post by accident, a genuine mistake, deleted within minutes. Yet for 8 years, hate-fuelled lies and misinformation have been spread relentlessly, with no end in sight. (1)

Labour MP did not say victims of grooming gangs should ‘shut their mouths’ – Full Fact
A post re-circulating on Facebook appears to be based on something that Naz Shah reposted from a parody account then quickly deleted in 2017—she has said the sharing of the post was a “genuine acciden...

I welcome the government’s decision to sanction Ben Gvir and Smotrich, who have long advocated for genocidal actions in Gaza.

But substantially more action is needed to ensure there is still a Palestine left to recognise, and that must start with the immediate recognition of Palestine.

Last week, I had the privilege of visiting Indonesia 🇮🇩 as Britain’s Trade Envoy to Indonesia and ASEAN.

With ASEAN’s combined GDP at $3.2 trillion, boosting trade here is a powerful way to showcase the potential of Global Britain. 🇬🇧

How many women have you spoken to about wearing the burqa?

Pochin (Reform MP): You can't!

Sarah Owen: That's not true, that's totally untrue. #ukpolitics

We welcome the govt’s announcement of coordinated and targeted sanctions against extremist Israeli ministers.

We must now go further to affect change by immediately recognising the State of Palestine & galvanising international partners to do the same.

It is important MPs listen to those who would have to implement the assisted dying Bill. Whatever our position on the principle, MPs must ask ourselves whether this Bill will cause more harm than good. This letter from senior doctors sets out why we should vote against this Bill.

🌏 Exciting week in Jakarta! 🇮🇩

Thrilled to be in Indonesia on my first visit as the UK’s Trade Envoy to Indonesia and ASEAN.

From meeting brilliant British businesses 🇬🇧 to deepening trade ties across ASEAN - we're forging stronger links and unlocking new opportunities across the region.

Delighted at the news that Bradford Royal Infirmary 🏥, St Luke’s Hospital 🏥 & Lynfield Mount Hospital 🏥 have received a major funding boost 📈 to improve local healthcare ✅.

For years, Bradford faced underinvestment and neglect. It's time for a government that invests in our local health service ✅.

As someone who has experienced both sides of the foster care journey — growing up in foster care and later becoming a foster carer — I know firsthand how vital a loving and stable home is for a child’s future.

As the Assisted Dying Bill currently stands, we are at risk of heading toward a Horizon-style scandal in the making.

My amendments aim to ensure that individuals with eating disorders are not pushed towards assisted death when what they truly need is the care and support they deserve.

Whether you’re celebrating today or tomorrow, Eid Mubarak to everyone celebrating.

Today I raised serious concerns about whistleblowing at Bradford NHS Trust with the Health Secretary, including the landmark ruling in favour of Dr Max McLean, the former Chair. I look forward to discussing this further with the Health Minister soon.

10 years ago on #InternationalWomensDay, I spoke about my unconventional journey into politics. A decade later, it’s a testament to our democracy that someone like me made it here.

This is what I wrote 10 years ago on #IWD.

Wishing everyone across Bradford West observing Ash Wednesday a peaceful start to Lent.

Many Christians mark Lent by fasting, prayer, and acts of charity and I wish them all the best in this period of reflection, repentance, and spiritual renewal.
