Reminder that, as of the latest reports, Liam Ramos is still in prison in Texas - now for 5 days.

His parents are legal asylum seekers with no criminal record.

This is niche to academia, but there is no procrastination quite like the procrastination to avoid doing the CV Update. 😵‍💫

The real “domestic terrorists” are in the White House.

The victim, Alex Jeffrey Pretti, was reportedly a law abiding US citizen & an ICU nurse at the VA. He was licensed to carry a firearm.

Trump & Miller are responsible for his killing & are now lying to the American people.
Another brutal killing by Trump’s ICE agents.

Trump, Vance, Noem, Miller, & the whole morally depraved crew have blood on their hands. These killings are happening at their direction. They must be held accountable.

Congress must cut-off funding for these heinous acts NOW!

More evidence that what we see on the streets of Minneapolis is only the tip of the iceberg.

He was a nurse.
The Strib has identified him. Alex Pretti. Another 37-year-old executed for standing up for our immigrant neighbors. For shame.

It is -3 degrees and we’re still hosting an audition weekend. Lol I can’t imagine this is good recruitment weather. 😂🙈☠️

Really wish Europe would clap back. Every time that he realizes people will concede to him or even negotiate with his insanity, he only learns that he can go further and he only wants to go bigger. Classic abuser.

I follow a DC weather account from home and they’re so excited about their snow right now and god I wish I remembered what it felt like to be excited by snow. Syracuse has destroyed that magic snow feeling for me. 😂

The GOP will still try to find a way to claim this terrorism is justified. Where even are we at this point.
Non-protesting dad just trying to hustle his kids, as young as 6mo, out of the neighborhood. ICE threw a flash-bang INTO HIS car, all 6 kids in the hospital now.

If anyone wondered how things turn against occupying armies there's a case study playing out in front of you.
That is what was relayed

I am beat after my teaching schedule today, but Luna the cat has curled up next to me and under the blanket on the couch, and this is restorative. ❤️

AOC: I want everybody to understand that the cuts to your health care are what’s paying for this. You get screwed over to pay a bunch of thugs in the street that are shooting mothers in the face.

Back to it this week. Don't actually start teaching until tomorrow, but the emails are already coming in, and so the game of whac-a-mole has begun...

I recommend reaching out to folks you know in Minneapolis. There’s a lot of insanity going on there that isn’t being reported in mainstream places.

If I suddenly became very rich (which sadly isn't going to happen) I would start up a moderately competitive grant for a moderate amount of money for mid-career artists to complete the middle phase of a mid-sized project. Obvs other demographics need more funding too. But there's a real lack here!
