Of course.
But don't forget the 2000 Palestinian hostages to be released later today, and the 10,000 more Israel will not release, including doctors and journalists, most never charged and many probably in degrading conditions. They hope we will forget now the Israelis are out

whatever else, it is fantastic news that the last living hostages have been freed after two years.

Indeed we haven't forgotten that Pitt introduced income tax as a temporary measure.

Today’s Times gives “urged” the entirely new meaning of “a lukewarm mention in the middle of a 66 page report”.

I'm surprised BlueSky doesn't have a block on posts that mention both Robespierre and Marie-Antoinette

I'm no expert on MM iconography (I can't even spell Magdalene properly - blame an Oxford education), but I think top right is an oil lamp suspended from a bracket. At the bottom of this, looking like a chess piece, might be a stylized ointment jar (it should be!)

Did get it but anyway...
"Maths" is a contraction, and takes no full stop; "math." is an abbreviation, and should have one (even if it doesn't always get its due). same number of keystrokes, so no economy.

I think he's progressed beyond teaching the chosen seed how the heavens and earth first rose out of chaos to how to get back there quick...must be those tablets again

Would have been more effective if Davey had given a specific example like that instead of letting Mason get away with it

What's he gained for UK in tariffs or defence, and was it worth turning a blind eye to genocide?

The political problem Trump presents for Keir Starmer is that keeping the US on side now requires increasingly absurd performances of self-abasement which Starmer's rivals within the Labour Party and the wider UK Left will use to fuel growing anger and frustration with Starmer among Labour's base

When he sees that photo I feel sure Humphy Trumpty will devise some new US order of chivalry so that he too can wear more bling. Expect the badge of the order to be gold

I am very much hoping not to be out-bagged at the #MarieAntoinette exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum.

It's the law that needs to be changed

I'd have expected @ft to spell out just how bizarre the SDLT provision is that seems to have caught her: just being the parent is enough, even if you don't own any beneficial interest and aren't a trustee. It isn't about occupation. Without this you can't appreciate how easily this mistake might...

Further, the paper doesn’t deny (it can’t) that leaving the ECHR would entitle the EU at once to terminate Trade and Cooperation provisions of great importance to immigration control and fighting crime. The EU could also terminate the TCA as a whole.
