Brit. Blessed to have seen the Holy Trinity in their championship pomp.
Charitably, Harborne expects nothing in return for his £9m, according to Farage who has shamelessly plugged this guy's crypto. Right.

He has made an immense fortune in crypto and – from his Thai retreat – is putting it at the service of Nigel Farage after a flirtation with the Tories

Very sad news of Robin Smith being called back to the pavilion, one of the three centurions in the Lord's test 1990 against India. Gooch rightly took the plaudits but Lamb & Smith plundered the bowling. Fortunate to occupy a ringside seat by the Tavern on the second day.

Middle of redecs, so the Len Deighton collection has had to come off the shelves. Not complete (Airshipwreck & Fighter, Ipcress on another shelf, tut).

The sheer weight of his output. Pick one: despite the extraordinary achievement of the Samson roman a fleuve, The Ipcress File. Bloody minded.

Nice interview of a few years back with the late Colin Addison & the history he created. Condolences to his family & the people of Hereford who have lost a favoured son.

Often wondered what this might once have been. Turns out it's a spigot mortar emplacement (not a popular weapon apparently). A bloke called Colin in the Pillbox Study Group has penned some interesting lines (I thought so anyway) on the topic.

Let it never be forgotten that it was Cameron who elevated Mone to the HoL. Another egregious example of Dave's sheer bloody incompetence.

We recorded this pod about 20 hours ago to help folks understand the consequences of tariffs. And so of course there have been big changes since.

But it likely will become relevant again next week, when the administration re-imposes tariffs using a new (maybe legit, maybe not) legal authority.

@mickpuck.bsky.social Terrifically memorable concert tonight before a (frankly, near delirious) crowd at Guildford's Glive. A band of superb musicians and the warmest of hosts. Will ye no come back again.

Right now would be a good time for Starmer to close trade deals with Mexico & Canada. Everyone benefits in demonstrating that life beyond Trump exists.

Reunited after 55 years. My baptism at a mist blanketed Goodison & the Gwladys to see the Toffees dispatch Ipswich 3-0. (My uncle offered to get the original signed by the team & needless to say, never seen again.) Saw the following match at The Dell where Mick Channon danced on mud to score twice.

Arne Slot's very own Barry Endean moment. By my calcs, Hardie's goal will be talked about in 2080. These things just have a life of their own.

Pritchard isn't up to the job of running the NHS if she can't be straight with the SC. Shades of Vennells & the Post Office, where it seems that yet another insider is promoted to the level of their incompetence. Maybe get someone else who can be less dissembling.

THE MOST important legal analysis I have read on the Trump presidency.

It offers a unifying theory of the administration's unprecedented claims to extreme executive power.

The claimed power to override Congress at a policy whim.

By two brilliant scholars. Trevor Morrison and @adambcox.bsky.social
