Very well-made video and photographs that clearly illustrate many aspects of the lives of the Poilus.
For this image, training or a real assault? Do you have a caption?

Merci- Real Sept 1917 - was a coup de main rather than a full offensive - 134e regiment

Currently YouTube is killing off all my longer videos (5mins+)… so if you can like a leave and comment on them - that will help promote the video and then it means I can make longer videos that don’t get suppressed by the algorithm

At some stage will make a longer version which covers all five

A man forgotten by History.

Son visage a traversé le temps. Son histoire s’est effacée avec le temps.

His story vanished. Not anymore, find out more about him below.
Below photo you will find in @drlindseyfitz.bsky.social The Facemaker book.

Could have made the video 10mins long, with all his injuries and rehab, but think in 2mins people will get his story!

A cemetery can hide thousands of names and stories

Here are 6 Cemeteries and 6 Soldiers stories.

From the rank and file to generals. Same war, different lives, but all the same fate.

Staff work here in #Verdun (avec grignoter) in preparation for @thegreatwargroup.bsky.social’s spring getaway - there are about two seats left on the coach if anyone wants to join us for an intro to this battlefield…

The first steel helmet on the Western Front wasn’t German or British: it was French.

How the Adrian helmet saved thousands even millions of lives:

This helmet belonged to my great-grandfather.

It’s a French Adrian helmet and it changed survival on the Western Front for the French other and many others that adopted it

I’m publishing my first full story tonight on Substack

Release due to rendering issues

On 25 September 1915

The men of the 315e RI attacked on the far left of the Champagne offensive.

Their assault is largely absent from first world war narrative, along with the whole battle itself

This film tells their story

Only a week or so left for you to send in your speaker pitches! Some excellent ones so far, people really using their imaginations with the brief! ✍️ 🤓
Time is running out! Some brilliant pitches so far. Have you got a #WW1 story to tell? Get in touch before 23rd January!

Indeed, please share the video around. On YouTube there are very few and the ones in the English language are terrible videos on 2nd champagne. Please view the video and like, to help YouTube push some actual researched history!

25th September 1915 likely the deadliest day in French military history.

A film I made that follows one regiment: 315e RI

This is their story
