And the fact that you think this is an issue that I want to "win" is why support is being lost. It's about people being able to live their lives and not being erased from existence. There are issues that you just can't fold on and this is one of them, at least for me.

Misfortune, maybe some understanding can be extended. And maybe being on the right side of things with your full chest, rather than a tepid squeak of kinda sorta support (or none at all), might actually resonate. But I have no idea, I don’t think that’s ever been tested

Democrats completely rolled on trans rights and let conservatives walk over them because I frankly don’t think a lot of them cared in the first place. It’s all very cynical and sad. You may very be right (I don’t agree) about political expediency but at a certain point morality trumps that.
