The people of Minnesota have executed one of the most impressive civil resistance campaigns I can remember:

- Organized a city wide general strike
- Maintained nonviolent discipline amidst violence
- Mobilized 10,000s in subzero temps to protest and watch ICE
- Flipped public opinion against ICE

They’re gonna blame everything on Greg Bovino, leave Minneapolis, and hope we forget.

It won’t work. They declared war on the American people. They’re terrorizing our communities. We will hold them accountable in November.

And this is why if you would like to see a better Dem Party, you should be adopting one or two primary challengers in safe Dem seats and helping them knock out a consultant-led incumbent.

For the umpteenth time, Brian nails it. House Dem Leadership screwed up big last week. This isn't "I told ya so." There should be some real reflection within the Dem Caucus about the systemic error in judgement that dismissed all efforts aimed at getting them to make the right call last week.
The murder of Alex Pretti might prove to be a political turning point for the GOP. It should be a turning point for Dems, too. For the current leadership, and the consultant-industrial complex, which just fatally endangered the careers of seven members who chose to put morality last.

They minimize; we maximize.

•Expose what happened.
•Validate the target: show the positive aspects of whoever
or whatever is attacked.
•Interpret the events as unjust.
•Mobilise support. Avoid or discredit official channels.
•Resist intimidation and rewards.

Christi Noem should testify under oath in Congress and explain why she lied about the facts around the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti.

Point of clarification on the first post in this thread: Jared Golden is retiring, so his career was already over. I obviously knew this (as you can see) but was typing fast.

The idea is that the party should learn from its "overperformers" who overperform by dint of following polls and playing it safe. But the overperformers are not possessed of unusual gifts. They're just playing the game of politics under different constraints. www.offmessage.net/p/a-failure-...

They have spent the Trump administration, and really the past several years, following a playbook that treats politics as a solved game. It was plain all along that this approach would end with Dems voting to fund atrocities out of political expediency. www.offmessage.net/p/a-failure-...

Voting NO on the DHS funding bill is the bare minimum.

Backing Kristi Noem’s impeachment is the bare minimum.

Holding law-breaking ICE agents legally accountable is the bare minimum.

ICE is beyond reform. Abolish it.

Democrats could act like an OPPOSITION Party.
Use every Parliamentary procedure in the books!
AND IMPEACH AND REMOVE.

We need to clamor for that even if the votes aren't there—yet.

"Homan Cava bag" refers to a 2024 FBI sting operation where former acting ICE Director Tom Homan allegedly accepted a $50,000 bribe in a takeout bag from the fast-casual restaurant chain Cava, offered by undercover agents posing as businessmen seeking future government contracts.

After weeks of brutality in Minneapolis, it’s no longer possible to say Trump administration seeks merely to govern this nation, but seek to reduce us to a state of constant fear, fear of violence, which no one will be safe. Our new reality, state terror has arrived.

Women grow up strong and brave in Minnesota. You’ve got to be tough to survive our winters. We’re Scandinavian descendants and a pretty hardy bunch.
We don’t take any sh*t from the likes of Trump and his motley crew of ne’er-do-wells, layabouts and good-for-nothings‼️

Minneapolis is the capital of the U.S. right now. Random middle aged aunties on the ground there are showing more physical and moral courage in one volunteer shift than Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries have in their entire lives combined.
