I don’t want to see any of these rw influencers killed. What I’d rather see is ONE of them - Fuentes, Jones, Patel, Rogan, etc - have a moment of enlightenment and realize the harm they’ve done in the world. Imagine if one of them actually apologized and decided to use their platform for good?

Yes. Frogs are smarter. But capture of mainstream media, like capture of SCOTUS, has been a longterm goal of the right. This most explicitly dates back to the Reagan era when Reagan and Roy Cohn brought in Rupert Murdoch and killed the Fairness Doctrine and media antitrust. See also Buckley v Valeo
“When the crisis constantly [gets] worse, why do media cover it with the same monotonous…drumbeat?
The media’s desire to sedate its audience is evidenced by NBC News’ new slogan: “Facts. Clarity. Calm.” This is not the time to be calm.
If we start thinking what’s happening is routine, we’re doomed”
That old metaphor about the frog and the boiling water isn’t true: If you put a frog in a pot of water and slowly raise the heat, the frog will jump out before it gets boiled to death.
The question now is whether American journalists are smarter than frogs.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

How about we shut down the government for this very popular and specific goal and then, hear me out, we hold out for like a month and a half and then, ok this part is important, after a watershed election where we ran the table, ONLY THEN, fold and don't get the one thing we said we wanted.

How you gonna keep fighting when you always let them win fuckface
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

Sanders: Let’s be clear… If this vote succeeds, over 20 million Americans are going to see at least a doubling in their premiums… if resolution is passed tonight, we are on a path way to throw 15 million Americans off of medicaid and the affordable care act, 15 million.

So @schumer.senate.gov really thinks we don’t understand that he orchestrated this by getting senators not up for re-election to vote yes?

Four of Mike Johnson's top priorities are:
1. Helping the super-rich get super-richer
2. Blocking the swearing-in of a duly elected Democrat
3. Denying food to the poor
4. Covering up for sex predators who rape children.
I guess there's no time left in his day to help everyday Americans.

Trump:
“It’s an honour to have a friend of mine here, Victor Orban. He’s a very special person and a great leader.”

It is so disgusting how this depraved piece of garbage treats authoritarians like they are royalty.

No doubt if Hitler was alive today he’d be idolizing him as well.

Donald Trump’s policies are failing the American people.

Reckless tariffs that increase costs. Cutting SNAP benefits. Raising health care prices.

We can and must do better for the millions of people who need a hand to get by.

12 days of work in 106 days.

With full pay and benefits.

The senate has been working, so this is not about the shutdown.

It is about avoiding a vote to release the Epstein files.
