So, stress amplifies our coping strategies: Colocalization of the 2 stress-sensitive peptides, CRH (green) and vasopressin (red), is augmented in adult hypothalamus after early-life stress #FluorescenceFriday 🧪🧠 #NeurobiologyofStress
a part of the brain charged with responding to stress contains 2 mediators, red and green, typically  in separate cells. early-life stress leads to their presence in a single cell, perhaps amplifying responses to stress later in life

5. Mostly what I take away from this (likely apocryphal) story about Barbara McClintock is that science isn't a race, it's a process. Some of us value a rapid process while some of us value a slower paced process. It is important that we don't treat science as a race towards some invisible goal.

A study in Nature Medicine finds that deep brain stimulation of a region called the lateral hypothalamus improves walking and promotes recovery in humans and rodents with spinal cord injury. https://go.nature.com/3Vlosyl 🧪
