The council have now opened this route. Thank you to those in the council and @mikecookson.bsky.social for getting this fixed. The signs are still in place but can be ignored.

Still no update on this unfortunately. Some Cyclists dismount signs have been quickly put up.

This is discriminatory to those with mobility cycles and blocks larger cargo bikes.

A safe diversion needs to be in place or the fencing moved.

If you notice something blocking the way on a route you use let us know. We can help contacting the council to get it removed or understand why it's there. We can also share it on social media so people know of any delays or interruptions they might face.

The route into Shieldfield has been blocked today by Newcastle Council. We have contacted them as there is no notice of a road closure that we can see.

Did you know Newcastle has over 3000 cycle parking spaces in the city centre. These have all now been added to open street maps and are accessible with more detail via a seperate map on our website.

Heads up to anyone cycling around the Heaton area. A tree has fallen completely blocking the City Stadium Cycle Way. This has been reported to the council.

It's a private road unfortunately. The council even recently had a diversion using despite it still being blocked off. We would like to see it fully opened and see no valid reason for it being blocked.

We will be heading through the Town moor towards Gosforth. Then back through Jesmond towards the city centre for some beverages and a chat.

People want secure and accessible cycle parking at home or as close to it as they can get. We need many more of these hangers in Bristol.
