So far, switching to desktop Linux (Ubuntu) has stuck! The only time I've had to boot back into Windows was to run RenderDoc ... I can't figure out how to run RenderDoc against a game that Steam is running via Proton .... ?

2025 feels like a pretty dismal year for boardgaming. I've enjoyed Eternal Decks, Vantage, and a bit of the Magical Athlete reprint, but that's about it.
A few years back, I felt like board games were out-innovating indie PC games, but now I feel like the reverse is true.
Is it just me?

Fantastic talk that not only presents a lot of new ideas, but also presents them in a very cogent & digestible manner. Adam's right: our language fails us for a lot of the nuance required by these topics. I esp. love the emphasis on noticing things - my personal thesis is that art-making is "search"

Moved to desktop Linux in earnest for the first time in my life, and honestly - it's finally ready (or it's been ready for a while). All my daily use apps are there. Driver support is perfect and all works out of the box. Every game I care to play is available to play.

Seattle-posting: I think it's WILD that the Stranger Election Control Board is backing SJR 8201, which would allow long term care funds to be invested into the STOCK MARKET. This isn't far off from 2005 Bush's social security reform. It's insane to propose esp. given imminent AI bubble pop.
