Not a good outcome for addressing the climate crisis or social justice issues; instead more Fortress Europe building & blaming refugees/migrants = enabling the far right. My only 'hopium' are young women's voting tendencies, suggesting many realise what's at stake for human and planetary futures 🌈🌈🌈

I know we all love a dose of hopium, especially now. But the take, which I see all across here, that the far right was defeated in Germany tonight because 80% of Germans voted for other parties is very misleading and unhelpful. Understanding this really matters. 🧵

I don’t want to repeat what I’ve already shared in my thread yesterday, but as more and more data become available, I must stress again how misleading it is to say 80% of Germans voted against the AfD and that the far right was defeated comprehensively.
