I did "Forum Duty" for five years for Bethesda where I read every social media channel looking for Player reported bugs. I would volunteer because I have thick skin.
90% of the posts online are copypasta of some guys opinion without original thought added. Many never even played the game.

One of the producers on Guilty Gear Strive said it was basically impossible to source player feedback on balance changes online because nobody had original opinions and would just parrot what the most popular content creators said and so they had to rely on data and I think about that every day.

Guild Wars 2 brought my guild of trolls and exploiters in to playtest a new PVP area and we told them it was too easy to knock people off the map and they didn't listen until it launched

You know, it was pretty cool of the narrative & character folks on my Dishonored 2 team to include a trans character. I actually have no idea if they consulted anyone or just sort of vibed their way into doing it pretty well.

Honestly I wish I could be mad at the people who got the job instead of me like a normal person but they're all such impressive individuals with a great work history.
