Which is to say, I saw the movie a couple of times about 35 years ago. I listen to some of the music most mornings (ideally with Pruit Igoe just starting as the train doors open at Liverpool Street).

The Emacs and elisp part of the story is just … normal?

The Welsh are, of course, British.
Though this may often be a matter of some regret for everyone concerned.

Do you have a cite for this specific image? I found a SuperK paper with a neutrino image of the Sun, but it wasn’t this one. And I saw this one in a paper on the arxiv that read like AI slop.

IIRC there are a couple of thousand. There are genealogy nerd sites obsessively tracking it. Bless.

Presumably an image of the _core_ of the Sun?

“Fire”, possibly with an intensifier, but I’ve lost track of the intensifiers.
5 years ago, “peng”, or perhaps “bear peng”.
10 years before that, “banging”.

Pulitzer, surely.
EXCLUSIVE: One Saturday afternoon in October, my phone lit up with a notification.

I glanced down at the message.

“Anna, Lindsey Halligan here,” it began.

So began my text exchange with the woman who is prosecuting the president's perceived political enemies.

A very familiar chart in this screenshot.
I did anothr version of my "Saga of Mulicore OCaml" talk, but this time, nerve-wrackingly, the authors of the original paper were all there!

Here's the link to the talk, which is found towards the end of the recording for the whole session.

Reading it at the moment. It’s a hot mess car crash of a book, with about four great stories struggling to fight free of it.

The case against “ultra-processed” food as a broad category is pretty weak. I tend to avoid fake meats because I don’t like them much, but when I’ve had Beyond burgers they’ve been Ok.
