I do networking stuff. Kuiper satellite internet, previously AWS. NAT, tunnels, dusty routers, bad jokes, IPv8.675309 🛰️📡 ☁️
Kuiper, now at 102 satellites. A lot more to go, but in the triple digit club!

If you're taking a cert or other type of exam, here's a cheat: the people that create the answers are always more pedantic about the right answer than the wrong answers. If you choose the longest answer to a multiple choice question, you'll be right about 75% of the time.

Looks like 20% chance of launch. There's another window tomorrow if the weather doesn't play nice.

Here's a new marketing video for Kuiper, it includes some details of the manufacturing and engineering. Space engineering is neat, and the folks in the video are the real people building it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBhs.... (It is a little dramatic, I suppose space is dramatic as well.)

Most days at Amazon: Please read this 6+ page dense document and comprehend it in 30m, 2-3x a day.

Other days at Amazon: Please watch this 2+ hour video, which should be a 2 page document, and click 50+ times.

There's _one_ training exception and it's awesome to read + test instead.

So as of this morning all of the vehicles Project Kuiper will use to launch our constellation have gone to orbit:
✅ Ariane 6 (last year)
✅ Vulcan/Centaur (last year)
✅ Atlas V
✅ Falcon 9
✅ New Glenn (this morning)

We were at 2/5 last year this time, it's enormous progress for heavy launch vehicles.

You know Sheryl Sandberg’s famous line: “If you’re offered a seat on a rocket ship, don’t ask which seat, just get on”?

Do you know who originally said that?

It was CHRISTA MCAULIFFE.

Who died in the Challenger explosion.

In case you’re wondering whether to trust rhetoric that comes out of Meta.

With the 6th Circuit's network neutrality decision today, the courts have now cycled through every combination of "The Telecommunications Act of 1996 [can|must] be read to treat broadband Internet as [an information service|a telecommunications service]."

Love me some chaos racks. Honestly the most surprising part is they didn't use the previous gen servers instead of coke cans. Something, something, gray market.

I bought a new dryer for $600 and they wanted another $300 for the stand. I spent $40 on wood and paint instead, similar energy.
todays my birthday.

it’s also the day 16 years ago I discovered that a customer for the data center I worked at had racked 3 full cabinets with over $200k of brand new server hardware on top of $80 of canned soda from our customer lounge vending machine to avoid spending $600 on mounting rails

I host a BDSM party every year.

BBQ
Drinks
Salsa
Music

I usually have to invite people two years in a row because the no-show rate for first time BDSM invites is surprisingly high.
hello, good morning

i just witnessed someone use the acronym “bdsm” to mean “business development, sales, and marketing” and i have never been so glad to have my camera off

I packed gym clothes on a work trip and used them.

You too, can achieve this feat by attempting it 40 times followed by collecting an untold amount of personal shame in Vegas the week prior.
