A woman with a family connection to White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has been arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Revere, Massachusetts.
The woman, Bruna Ferreira, has an 11-year-old son with Michael Leavitt, Karoline Leavitt's brother.
Ferreira migrated with her family to the United States from Brazil as a child and is currently in custody at an ICE facility in southern Louisiana.

why everything sucks online:
1) online ads used to pay for everything until companies realized that ads didn't work that well
2) the companies that owned the ad systems need something that makes money since ads are working less

there is a level of uncomfortable sexualization that should be allowed on steam, and valve needs to stop pretending that any at all is an unforgivable sin. it's only making the subject more difficult to stop in art, and it isn't actually stopping the sexualization of minors on the platform

I feel horrible about this situation, but I think they're being a little bit dense when they describe the scene that got them banned as non-sexual. I don't like to poke holes in something like this but if we're gonna stop this nonsense we have to talk about it

this happened because ads stopped working, then their work to compromise search results by biasing towards AdWords stopped working, then they realized being able to blame an LLM for both inaccurate placement and inaccurate information was better for ad unit sales than Having Search Work
Google at its peak was basically the best information retrieval system in human history and they and every competitor decided going from there to “you didn’t want answers you wanted half-assed auto-complete 80%-wrong hallucinations” in a few years was the right idea
