Foggy sunrise this morning. Cascade foothills. Portland Oregon. 🩶☀️
Foggy sunrise. Dark landscape, with a blurry tree-line with lifting fog, creamy yellow light with tree silhouettes, dark band of clouds, the sun partially exposed above, cream yellow sky and clouds above.

The Regime's goal is to grind everyone down. Plain & simple. Our goal is to refuse this by taking turns to fight where and how we can. When one group needs to bow out, then another group needs to step in and so on. We don't all have to do everything. We can all do something though. Stay in the fight

My latest is the story of how my community has rallied to protect and defend our neighbors in recent days, as ICE has targeted the Rogers Park neighborhood in Chicago. "This is not a story about a moment of victory, but a moment of being reminded of our power."
They Came for Our Neighbors. We Showed Up.
Before long, there were dozens, and then hundreds of people in the streets, watching and responding.

ICE in Chicago detained two people (that we know of) for filming them today, a cyclist and a neighborhood rapid responder. This in addition to tear gassing another neighborhood and brandishing weapons at rapid response—both things that have also already been going on for weeks.

ICE just blatantly violated the law and arrested sitting Chicago Alderperson Jessie Fuentes while seeking to illegally arrest a patient in a hospital. Fuck these fascists.

All charges brought against protesters at Broadview today must be dropped. When cops and agents attack crowds without provocation, they make shit up to justify their attacks (in his case, an attack waged on a cooperative crowd to produce fascist social media content). These charges must be dropped.

As ICE continues to terrorize Chicagoland, protesters gathered this morning outside the Broadview detention center—throwing stuffed animals at DHS agents, playing music through tear gas assaults, and putting their bodies on the line to stop ICE vehicles. My latest.

Jimmy Kimmel's worst case scenario was moving from prime time to a podcast. Mario Guevara's is being shipped to El Salvador and facing more of the persecution he fled 20 years ago.

If that happens, the chilling effect will be impossible to measure.

Took fire to the face. ICE definitely isn’t aiming at ground and firing at people’s heads again.

22-year-old Ward Sakeik, a Palestinian woman who has lived in Texas since she was 9, says her experience in federal detainment could only be identified as “human trafficking.” And she’s not staying quiet about the women she was forced to leave behind.

My weekly must-reads list and my thoughts on witnessing care and courage amid clouds of tear gas Friday night. "Almost 550 people across Chicagoland have been arrested by ICE during Operation Midway Blitz. It is a campaign of terror focused on a city that our president feels profound contempt for."

I tend to get tunnel-visioned about the current crisis and fight, so I just feel lucky to have you helping us to think big-picture and focus on the skills we need to get through this and beyond.

I so badly needed today. Thank you! I especially appreciate your vision and foresight in focusing on this topic. It keeps me going, knowing that you and other organizers and thought leaders (esp. in Chicago!) are here to help us all build a better future.

I rarely share organizations in Gaza because it’s too hard to verify that they are doing the work they say they are but I know multiple people who were able to evacuate through the people working on this fund who are funding trips out of Gaza City (it’s $2100 a trip for 16 people).
