The data on #Bikelanes are clear & consistent: GREAT for cities in just about every metric you can think of. So why are politicians across Canada attacking them? We dig in with @bikecalgary.bsky.social's Doug Clark & Alyssa Quinney

Graph is worth a thousand words.

"Anecdotes from teachers, students and parents in other school divisions also suggest class sizes exceed those recommendations, but precise figures are harder to come by.

If green energy were in fact a con job, what in fact would be the motive for that con? Please find me the shadowy Big Solar figures pulling the strings of governments around the world. I'm waiting.

Despite rhetoric that associates non-car infrastructure development with liberal politics, “at the local level, there really isn’t that divide,” Mills said in an interview. Florida, he noted, is a red state with “extremely strong” plans to grow its network of mixed-use trails for bikes & pedestrians

It's so frustrating to see so many #yyc mayor and council candidates pledging to rescind the climate emergency and blanket rezoning. Didn't both of those policies qualify Calgary to receive a lot of funding? Why is nobody talking about the financial upside?

Your daily reminder that climate change is not your fault and is the result of the willful negligence of fossil fuel companies and their outright bribes to governments.

“Questioning the science" describes exactly what experts do every single day in the scientific literature.

It’s not done in a social media thread among random conspiracy promoters who've never seen a lab.

My takeaway: no excuse to go over one page unless asked for a CV. I also like that awards and festival selections are listed next to projects instead of separately.
I wouldn't list hobbies but volunteering and community work absolutely belong on a resume, and your own projects if you're a filmmaker.

A new update from @environmentaldefence.ca reveals that Big Oil held 159 lobbying meetings with the new Carney gov't in its first three months. That's 355 so far this year, nearly three every workday, often with top decision-makers.

Canada deserves a gov't that serves Canadians, not oil lobbyists.

In an unprecedented move, Rob Morgan, the CEO of the Alberta Energy Regulator, has bowed to intense bullying from an Australian-based coal company and cancelled a planned public hearing on a large underground project near the town of Grande Cache.

"Concerns raised by environmental groups weren’t relevant, added the company, because these groups didn’t live in the area and therefore were not “directly affected.”
. . . studies show that toxic pollutants from coal mining can travel 100 kilometres downwind and 500 kilometres downstream. " #abpoli

The fine folks @pembina.org have done the math on the toll of Alberta's UCP government's open war on clean power. Essentially an entire provincial grid's worth of emissions-free energy projects have been cancelled. Spectacular own goal, well done, Danielle Smith and team!
