It hurts me deeply that the “last word” on all the abuse debacle is someone saying that victims should “stay in their lane” because it makes people uncomfortable to highlight abusers. The naïveté and hope I had for the Kingdom Hearts community has been crushed over the last couple of days… 😢

If you're a victim of abuse, don't feel like you have to take an abuser's comfort into count. Even if you're in a spot that could cause discomfort for people who are close to the abuser, still speak up. Highlighting your abuse is more important than keeping an abuser comfy.

I stated in my op on blocking Glovich that I won’t be subtweeting. I will engage in dialogue, not hide behind vagueness. My goal in anything I have posted, including my own comments in the post you quoted, is to lay accountability on the one name that needs it most. The actions of one bad dude have rapid-fire poisoned whole swaths of a community, all the more reason to remove him.

I want to be ever-mindful of intent vs impact, so that no one gets hurt more than they already have been. So I ask you to reflect on the intent of your words versus their possible impact. If you want to block Bambina or anyone else for any reason, that is your right. However, announcing that you have blocked both her (and others) and Brandon in the same sweeping statement paints a false equivalence. It reinforces the idea that there are “sides” and leaves room for others to obfuscate the real issue.

It does little good to denounce an abuser while simultaneously dragging the victim’s name through the mud. Your intentions may be nuanced, but the impact is not. It sends the message that you make no delineation between victims of discomfort in online spaces, and victims of deeply personal emotional abuse. That you denounce an abuser but in the same breath tell victims (using the phrase “supporters of Bambina”) that there is a specific script they must follow to be heard and respected. I give you the grace to assume that was not your intent, but I want the impact, at least on me personally, to be heard.

It tells the community, “Speak up, but gently.” I apparently haven’t been blocked by others, and have been applauded in DMs, because I have handled things gently. Make no mistake, Brandon Glovichs abuse was PROFOUND and has haunted those in proximity for a very long time. Make no mistake, I have been seething and crying in pain this week. For anyone who was close to him and unaware what he was doing, that’s hard. For the people, the person, he was actually doing this to, it was 1,000 times harder, for longer. I’m glad I had the fortitude to speak gently, but I give grace to those who couldn’t. Because it is hard.

In your post you have mentioned berating and manipulation. By whom? Be clear and honest and brave. Let’s open up this conversation fully and clearly, because if the abuse in this community goes further than Brandon Glovich, there is no better time to be transparent and lay it on the table. Otherwise, let’s not compare apples and oranges.

Sounds like he failed a few classes on his way to whatever degree he has. You can and should lose your job in the medical field for taking stances like that.
