Climate change will inevitably lead to mass migration & political instability as people vie for space & resources. Some people stigmatising migrants are those actively encouraging choices exacerbating the situation, while pouring scorn on tech & policies which could mitigate or prepare for change.
Sadly suppressing such a devastating report doesnโ€™t make the risks go away - it just makes them even harder to deal with. Facing up to the truth is the first step to coping with it - itโ€™s beyond scandalous that ministers tried to prevent this. They need to act - and fast

Mowing a grass path and walking along it while the plants around grow is one of life's great pleasures.

Hard to believe this is America. I grew up thinking it was a place that gave others hope.
Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.

UK Universities cut 13,300 jobs, paid ยฃ300m+ in redundancy.

Economic contribution of the HE sector, ยฃ265bn.

Systematically destroyed by govts - foreign students not welcome, cut real-term grants, fees, students burdened with debts, low staff pay/morale.

I lifted most of the plants out of my container pond before it froze this year but I left some of the mare's tail behind, Hippuris vulgaris is a good oxygenating plant and you can see how the air bubbles it has breathed into the water have been caught in the ice ๐ŸŒฑ

Let me explain.
Please #repost this thread.

It literally takes you a second. Costs you nothing.
Bees are in trouble and need you good people to help.
Thank you.

#Positivity Alert. Seems fantastic #community initiative to save a rare #organic farm and community asset. Celebrate the New Year perhaps with a small, donation or share purchase for a new beginning and for a greenfield site to stay green.

No pictures unfortunately but what worked best for us was one or two old windows for the top, set at an angle. Supported on a solid frame of recycled timber, higher at the back than the front, with swing up stays( props) that can hold the top open as required.

Thames Water is a test for the British economy.

It profits by ripping off customers.
Pays dividends, doesn't invest.
Since March TW borrowed ยฃ1.47bn.
Paid ยฃ900m in fees/interest for the emergency financing.

Can't address crisis without public ownership.

Thames Water is a test for the British economy
It is a particularly British paradox that one of the countryโ€™s biggest companies can both generate hundreds of millions in profit and be at imminent risk of bankruptcy. This is the story of Thames Wat...
