Love all things gardening. Restoring an art deco garden with my faithful hound Ted.

I thought I'd share some early summer cheer as we head into winter— a video of my wisteria walkway in full bloom taken a couple of years ago. 🌱 #gardening
Ted loves scrambled eggs!

Morning all. Noticed this morning that, now some tree foliage has fallen, I can see the tawny owl box from my bedroom window. Quite far away( zoomed in the picture), so will need my binoculars. Fingers crossed the owl couple visiting & perching above my window spot it & move in. 🌱

Frosty start to the day but thawed by lunchtime. Stayed very cold though but I was still able to get pond maintenance done 🌱

Morning all. Gorgeous morning after all the recent rain but cold enough to nip your fingers. As ever, rose Trumpeter is still valiantly blooming. Such a vibrant wonderful variety. Hope you’re having a super day whatever you’re up to 😊🌱

Horribly wet today so focussed on indoor projects. Repaired tiling to the garden room Art Deco floor & finished painting the walls. Looking forward to seeing if this is a flower stem or if it’s a plantlet. Cosying up with Ted to finish my Italian homework. Have a lovely evening 😊

That’s the wormery winter ready. Supervisor Betty approved the work! 🌱

It’s bare root rose planting season and if you’re still deciding on new additions consider hip producing varieties. Essential to the ecosystem, this provides a hugely valuable food source for birds who in turn are a mainstay of pest control. 🌱

Morning all. A really cold frosty start to the day, with a shepherd’s warning sky. First job of the day is to insulate the wormery for the coming winter months. I’ll be recycling some packaging which should do the job. Keep warm & safe everyone 😊 🌱

One of my favourite places to sit at this time of year. The peace of the orchard & I can see right through to the formal garden 🌱 #GardensHour

To some this is a mess. To me it’s the engine room of the garden. There will be lots of lovely compost & leaf mould for next year 🌱 #GardensHour

As the nights get colder, today I wrapped the pots containing non frost hardy plants that are too heavy to move. They’re in quite a sheltered spot so will be fine. 🌱 #GardensHour

Morning all. Glorious autumn day here. Although a bit nippy, the sun is shining. Hoping to get the last grass cut & wildflower orchard scarify done today before winter break.
Just love the last little bits of colour still determined to bloom. Have a super day everyone 😊 🌱
