If autism and ADHD supposedly come with superpowers, then I want to know where mine are? Cause it’s been 30 years and they haven’t shown up! /s

A photo of a set of 5 pens on a black card background. The header text on the packaging says "Neurodivergent Sh*t" The pens are yellow, black and pink and feature wording.
The pens say:
"Hyper focused for feral animal are my 2 states"
"wait, i feel like you might be joking but i can't tell"
"ok but why are the sounds so loud"
"you mean not every thinks like that?"
"excuse me while i attempt one task and get sidetracked"

There is a fantastic futility to organising the under-5s non-fiction section in a public library, for I fear that its users may not yet fully appreciate the genius of the Dewey Decimal System.

Is there a term for accidentally smushing two words together when speaking? Like your brain can’t decide which of two synonyms to use so it combines them on the fly? A portmanteau, but accidental, unintentional.

I do this all the time, and I don’t know if it’s an ADHD thing or just a ‘me’ thing?

It’s #DyslexiaAwarenessWeek in Scotland this week and in the rest of the UK next week. As a dyslexic reader myself I wanted to use #KidsBooksFriday this week to celebrate brilliant, accessible and super-readable texts of all kinds.
#UKKidLit #KidLitUK #KidLit
Book cover for Reek by Alastair Chisholm, illustrated by George Caltsoudas showing a young person with a helmet and rocket books swinging through a futuristic Edinburgh via a rope. Book cover for Wonderfully Wired Brains by Louise Gooding showing a young person with short hair and glasses wearing a green hoodie. Around their head are a myriad of different things from animals to basketballs, pencils, paint brushes and games controllers. Book cover for Ink Girls by Marieke Nijkamp and Sylvia Bi showing three girls with papers in their hand as if passing our leaflets, hovering over a medieval European style city. Book cover for The Horse Dreamer by Holly Surplice showing a sketch style drawing of a girl riding a galloping horse.

Hypermobile folks trying to get comfy:
weratedogs.com
This is Cleo. She has a unique way of sitting. In fact, she has several. 14/10 (IG: cleolonglegs)
a blond silken windhound sits upright in a tall posture in a mauve tufted chair. she has big pointy ears, long wispy fur on her face and legs, and all four of her legs are tucked in together, her front legs straight as a board. cleo the silken is curled up like a little nugget in a gray chair, all her limbs obscured in a puddle of fur. her neck sticks up and her ears are alert as she looks off frame. she’s got the posture of a rubber ducky. cleo is sitting in profile on a light gray couch. she’s hunched over ever so slightly with her ears pinned back. a single canine is hooked out over her lip like a little snaggle tooth. we’re not 100% sure, but we’re pretty sure she’s stepping on a little bit of her tail fur.
