When asked if I thought #MetroidPrime4 was a disaster on the level of #MetroidOtherM, I initially wanted to brush that notion off as a non-starter. But then I remembered I finished Other M. But I couldn’t bring myself play blind healer through the horrible last boss of MP4. So I dunno anymore.

When asked if I thought #MetroidPrime4 was a disaster on the level of #MetroidOtherM, I initially wanted to brush that notion off as a non-starter. But then I remembered I finished Other M. But I couldn’t bring myself play blind healer through the horrible last boss of MP4. So I dunno anymore.
I'll say it once again. MacKenzie’s nerdy humor is not ruining #MetroidPrime4. But his nonstop telling Samus what to do does. In terms of cringe, though, FWIW I cringed way harder at fangirl Armstrong.

• MacKenzie’s personality is fine and even feels endearing. What’s bad is him overstaying his welcome.
• Game's a looker.
• Viola feels awesome.
• The associated dad-rock swing of the OST, though, not so much.
• Game's more old school 3D Zelda than Metroid. That’s fine.

In all the years since Metroid Prime 3, I can’t recall hearing anything which sounded as much like #MetroidPrime music as the Blasted Steps track in #Silksong.

Maybe growing up in the NES era gave me the utterly paranoid, frenzied playstyle needed to enjoy Silksong without wailing on about its difficulty? I mean, it IS a hard game but… that’s part of the charm, no?

Becoming increasingly clear we’re gonna have to build a parallel infrastructure for all the media we really love. The reason all of this is happening under the color of law is hyperconsolidation, dissent being traded straight up for merger approval, or fear of harassment.

Though countless takes are bound to come out of current events, let’s not forget the most valuable lesson of this American catastrophe: there’s a language which led to this censorship. And tolerant as we want to be, tolerance of some rhetoric threatens tolerance itself. It shall not stand.

I don’t know if all this talk of Switch 2 performing horribly now that launch is behind us are true, but Nintendo would deserve this fate. SW2 has been underwhelming, save for Bananza, and everything in their latest Direct was overpriced.

• Galaxy 1+2 is way too expensive
• DKB DLC is a game mode alien to DK and shafts K Rool & Krew in favor of… more Void Kong?
• Yoshi skirts ever younger, it seems
• MP4 seems to have lotsa really empty pockets
• Mandatory VB accessory?!
They’re lost.

I enjoyed my time with the Direct, but…

Political violence is always sickening, and I don’t think anyone could or should condone Charlie Kirk’s murder.

That thing is an INCREDIBLE work of art. Some real crunchy jazz in there.

So in a shocking twist, I will be purchasing a #Switch2 on launch, mostly out of fear that its price will rise later on, much like the PS5 and XS* did.
