The sexual exploitation of servicewomen and military spouses at Fort Hood and Tripler is unacceptable. For years, the Army ignored reports. Survivors deserve justice. I joined the Democratic Women’s Caucus to demand a full investigation and stronger protections.
For years, Dr. Major McGraw reportedly sexually exploited servicewomen and military wives at Fort Hood and the Tripler Army Medical Center.

Yet, the Army appears to have repeatedly ignored reports from survivors and kept Dr. McGraw on staff.

Today, I introduced the bipartisan Supporting Blue Envelope Programs Act with Rep. Rutherford. Blue Envelope Programs work, in the IE and in 29 states nationwide, helping first responders communicate safely with people with Autism & I/DD. I'm excited to lead this effort to expand them nationwide.

When families say they can’t afford groceries, Donald Trump tells them: “Don’t be dramatic.”

This is what happens when a billionaire thinks working people should just suffer in silence. Americans deserve a president who actually understands their struggle, not mocks it.

Juan Orlando Hernández ran a criminal enterprise from the presidency and helped flood our communities with cocaine. Calling for his arrest is justice, no matter how many favors Trump gives to convicted drug traffickers. I stand with the people of Honduras demanding Hernández face the law.

The president has granted clemency to about 100 people accused of drug-related crimes during his two terms in office, a Post analysis shows.

I’m proud to lead the reintroduction of the Native American Seeds Act of 2025 with Rep. LaMalfa, Senator Heinrich, and Senator Crapo. This bipartisan legislation helps Tribal governments protect seeds that are culturally and spiritually vital.

"There have to be consequences for abject war crimes... There's a standard, there's an ethos, there's a belief that we are above what so many things that our enemies or others would do.”

Secretary Hegseth said it himself and he broke that standard. He must resign.

Today, I led 52 New Dems in urging President Trump to take real action on the housing crisis. Our letter lays out 8 commonsense steps the Administration can take immediately because declaring a “national housing emergency” isn’t enough if families still can’t afford a home.

Today, I spoke out against Trump’s pardon of Juan Orlando Hernández, a warlord who fueled over 100,000 American deaths and sent 700,000 Hondurans running for their lives. This pardon is a betrayal of justice and of every family still living with the consequences of his brutality.

My heart goes out to the family, friends, and co-workers of the railroad employee who tragically lost their life today in Ontario, CA. We mourn this loss, stand with the community as the Federal Railroad Administration investigates, and remain committed to the safety of all.

The IG report confirms what lawmakers in both parties have warned: Sec. Hegseth’s reckless judgment, the same issue that nearly got him fired months ago, puts our troops at risk.

So far in 2025, people in California have paid $1,112 more due to inflation under Trump, despite his promises to “bring the cost of everything way down.

Instead, prices are climbing across the state.

On #WorldAIDSDay, we must sound the alarm: Trump’s proposed federal cuts could erase decades of progress, including in the Inland Empire. These programs save lives every single day, and we can’t afford to lose them.

70 years ago, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat and ignited a justice movement. Today, we carry that fight forward against inequality, voter suppression, and attacks on human rights. Her courage reminds us: justice demands action.

Yesterday, my colleagues and I attended a congressional oversight hearing on immigration operations in LA. I experienced firsthand how harmful these tactics are because I was teargassed. Our communities deserve transparency, accountability, and to be treated with dignity.
