Northeastern landed the commitment of Liam Kilfoil earlier this week. Long considered one of the top ‘07 forwards in North America, Kilfoil profiles as a top-line center for the Huskies when he eventually arrives.

Good scrimmage from Matthews tonight as Lawton Zacher and Team Red took a 3-1 lead before Team Black rallied for an OT win.

The youth movement showed out as Griffin Erdman and D Dylan Compton joined multi-goal scorers Matthew Maltais, Ethan Fredericks & Joe Connor on the ledger.

The 3rd player to commit to NU on 8/1, Owen McHale is a presence on the left wing for Dexter.

The second commitment Northeastern received on 8/1 was Noah Survilas, a play-driving winger from Dexter Prep. @_Neutral_Zone’s Prep Rookie of the Year in 2023-24, his combination of speed, hands, and elite vision project him to be a top-six winger for NU.

August 1st opened a new recruiting cycle and Northeastern landed 3 commits on Day One. We’ve profiled them all starting with Brian McFadden, a 4 star right-shot defenseman with a “unicorn” blend of size, skating ability, and puck skills.

More schedule info falling into place as more schools release their schedule. BC is the latest: NU will play BC three times this season, including as the final game of the season.

So far we know three of NU’s 3x opponents: BC, BU, UMass-Amherst. Based on schedules out, looks like UConn is #4

Hearing that ‘07 forward Cole Chandler has committed to Northeastern.

The Nova Scotia native was a 5th round selection of the Boston Bruins in the 2025 NHL Draft. 13-19-32 in 64 games for Shawinigan of the QMJHL last year.

He will return to Shawinigan next season.

NEW COMMIT: '06 LD Marcus Kearsey commits to NU. Kearsey has played three years for Charlottetown of the QMJHL, wearing an A in 2024 and a C in 2025 and picking up 106 points from the blue line. He will presumably captain the team again this year.

Nathan Quinn is NU's second NHL draft pick, going 164th overall to the Philadelphia Flyers. A playmaking center, Quinn played his draft year in the QMJHL for Quebec, scoring 46 points in 54 games as a 17 year old. Expected to join the Huskies in 2026.

Sean Barnhill is the first Husky off the board in the 2025 NHL Draft, going 70th overall to the Rangers. Barnhill made his USHL debut last year and the 6'5" RD made an impact with his first three USHL goals all coming in the same game. Expected to join the Huskies in 2026.

Day 2 of the NHL Draft starts at noon, and Northeastern is expected to see multiple recruits selected.

RD Sean Barnhill has been projected in the late 2-to-3 range.

C Nathan Quinn has been ranked between rounds 3-5.

Late round chance for Davis, Pechar, Caron, and Compton.

Heading into the 94th season of Northeastern Men’s Hockey, Vinny Borgesi has been named captain. Jo Lemay, Andy Moore, and Dylan Hryckowian will be assistant captains.

Borgesi is the 92nd unique player to be bestowed the honor of Captain in program history.
