San Jose, CA native living in VT on 9 wooded acres with husband of 41 years and our 2 elderly cats. NO RED or BLUEMAGA allowed!

GOP is batshit crazy. Dems pushing right, making things worse for all of us while they lust for donor $$+ignore their voters.
Pinned
If you are bashing voters who stayed home/voted 3rd party, DO. NOT. FOLLOW. ME.
It's not the voters' fault that the Orange Domestic Enemy won. It's that of Dems doing the bidding of their donors instead of allowing the people to elect the candidate they want. Name-calling will be reported+blocked.

Something to think about..
Something about the shooting yesterday doesn't feel right.

It feels too convenient. A vetted Afgan national that was granted asylum, randomly shoots a National Guardsman near the WH for no reason right when the NG was set to leave DC because there was no violence.

Now the NG is not leaving DC.
Trump vows to 'permanently pause' migration from 'third world countries' after National Guard shooting
The president called for "reverse migration" in a lengthy social media post late on Thanksgiving and said that he wanted to deport anyone "non-compatible with Western Civilization."

‘Medicare for All’ still big. “In a survey of 1,207 likely voters [from] Nov. 14–17, 2025, ...65% of voters [supported] a Medicare for All system, described as a ‘national health insurance program... that would cover [everyone] & replace... private health insurance...’" jacobin.com/2025/11/medi...
Medicare for All Disappeared. Its Popularity Didn’t.
The demand for Medicare for All went from the center of the discourse to political exile in record time. But the policy's popularity never faded. A new poll finds strong majority support for the neglected idea among Americans across the political spectrum.

We keep calling on our shitty governments to behave like proper governments should.
We tell them: Israel is evil.
They tell us: we are all Israel.

How to Get Rid of "Citizens United"
We can do away with it without a new Supreme Court. Nor do we need a constitutional amendment. There’s a far simpler way.

We need new books and new-book shops. We need to fund the creation of new works that add joy and interest and interpretation to our lives.

But we also need the beautiful, the old, the strange, the different, and the already-loved and affordable.

There's a shop for that 📚❤️

Communities need used-book shops.

As the trends in our world are increasingly standardized and entrenched by "predictive" technologies that stifle innovation and reduce human actions into economic categories...

We need a full range of possibilities for readers and communities to explore and share.
