#NowPlaying Yes - Drama

The most underrated album in their catalogue. Whilst occasionally the production is a bit lacking I love the compositions and Machine Messiah is an absolute classic!

#NowPlaying The Who - Who’s Next

Never considered myself to be a big fan of The Who, but this is just superb, deserves all of the praise it gets. Bookended by two absolutely sublime tracks!

What’s your favourite Who album?

#NowPlaying Paramore - Riot!

One of my favourite albums as a teenager, gave me my love of pop punk, and I still enjoy each revisit!

#NowPlaying The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses

A psychedelic indie rock classic that captures the vibe of a time perfectly. Whilst it released in the 80s it defined much of the 90s.

#thestoneroses #indierock #psychedelic #madchester
#NowPlaying Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway

First listen for me! Finally got a copy of this titanic album, so many breathtaking moments.

Not sure it’ll become my favourite of theirs but very glad to finally hear it!

#NowPlaying Buckingham Nicks - Buckingham Nicks

So glad this finally got a CD release. A fantastic album, with great harmonies and guitar work. A few tracks feel like a prototype for what they would do in Fleetwood Mac.

#NowPlaying Bob Dylan - Highway 61 Revisited

A great album that is bookended by two sublime tracks. Once again some outstanding songwriting/lyricism.

What for you is Dylan’s best album?

#NowPlaying Genesis - Selling England by the Pound

One of the greatest opening lines to an album ever. Beautifully pastoral and quirky from start to finish.

I must admit I had a mixed reaction, at times it really worked and added something to the track but other parts felt forced and too stereotypical.
#NowPlaying Biffy Clyro - Futique

First listen for me, been a while since I checked out their stuff. Whilst I still long for a slightly rawer sound this is unmistakably them and has some great tracks!

#biffyclyro #rock #altrock #newmusic
#NowPlaying Jakko Jakszyk - The Bruised Romantic Glee Club

Always good to have a delivery from @burningshed.com! An excellent eclectic mix of styles creates something that is unique yet shows its various influences.

#NowPlaying Pink Floyd - Live at Pompeii

First listen for me. Thoroughly enjoyed it, hearing a rawness to this transitional period, though a party of me does wish it had been recorded after DSotM, imagine the setlist!

#NowPlaying King Crimson - In the Court of the Crimson King

Iconic. After all these years the opening track still sounds fresh and exciting. So close to perfection!

What’s your pick for an iconic album?

#NowPlaying Uriah Heep - Live in Moscow

Finally got a CD copy of this fantastic live recording. Love this lineup as it’s the one I first heard, Bernie Shaw’s vocals are just immense, but my favourite track is the Phil Lanzon led Mr Majestic.

Very nice! I must make the effort again next time they play near me!
#NowPlaying Pink Floyd - Animals

An album I should revisit more. Long tracks with moody synths and epic guitar parts, what more could you ask for?

Where do you rank this amongst PF albums?

#NowPlaying John Coltrane - A Love Supreme

A true jazz classic, bursting full of spirituality it shows Coltrane at his finest. Absolutely recommend!

What are some of your favourite jazz albums?

#johncoltrane #jazz #postbop #60smusic
#NowPlaying John Wesley - Chasing Monsters

First listen for me. Like his other albums that I’ve heard it’s a solid release. I felt Disconnect and the Lilypad Suite to be more engaging but I need to give this a few more listens.

#johnwesley #rock #altrock
#NowPlaying Wishbone Ash - Argus

The album that made me fall in love with music. Such fond memories of my dad playing the CD in the car.

What was the first album that captivated you?

#NowPlaying Gorillaz - Plastic Beach

Whilst for me it will always be in the shadow of Demon Days this is a fantastic album with some great singles linked by a loose theme.

Favourite track: On Melancholy Hill

#NowPlaying Gentle Giant - Acquiring the Taste

Ranging from medieval to astral this eclectic album is thoroughly enjoyable!

Gloriously aggressive fuzzy guitar tones make for a memorable and enjoyable listen. Definitely recommend!
