Cats. Foresight. Pragmatism.

TX > SEA🌲> TX >
I do have qualms and questions about candidates door-knocking in TX in the current political climate, especially when ICE has threatened to go door-to-door to do immigration checks and the way to avoid that is to just not answer the door.

It just seems doomed I'm sorry.

The first wave of bread was truly awful back when I was diagnosed in 2010. Even now, the breads are still very case-specific. S/o to Franz and Canyon Bakehouse for being decent in the new wave of widely-available options even if they're close to $10 a loaf.

All old-hat. They've got new tricks that they're up to this primary for voter suppression+. Not Harris County yet, but I'm sure more is coming:

Dallas, Williamson end countywide voting sites for March election
Dallas and Williamson county Republicans are shifting away from using countywide voting sites on Election Day for Texas’ March 3 primary. Democrats will have to fall in line.

And if you want to ACTUALLY help the people of Texas, lead with affirmatives about your preferred candidate of choice and perhaps also mention the gubernatorial primary/Gina Hinojosa (the presumed frontrunner by and large) since her name rec is also abysmal.

Non-Texans cannot be trusted with Talarico-Crockett discourse. If you're that bored and desperate for a hard-to-win senate seat, you can redirect your energy/funds to Brian Bengs in South Dakota.

Leave the actual TX voters in peace. We're letting Platner-Mills play out in Maine. Y'all can get.

I need these streaming services to get their act together. When I type "For The Love of Money Bone Thugz" you know what I mean.

Do I know it's called "Foe Tha Love of $"??? No. But you know it's close enough. Pull it up.

I woke up and not only have we bombed Caracas while I slept, we also stole the president?!? For oil?!?!? and drugs I guess but mostly oil
January 3, 2026 at 2:25 PM
...why do we have the President of Venezuela?

Uh...give him back.

I like this one social media guy who points out that most Americans don't have a problem with getting enough protein since the requirements to even build muscle are actually way lower than anyone realizes and that fiber is the important one most of us are missing.

So that's the one I focus on.

I do also have the normal Superpuff coat (both in Brown...Cocoa and Caban which is more purple) but I only bring that out when it gets to be 0 and it is only that in Texas in apocalyptic situations.
December 31, 2025 at 4:15 AM
Finally unpacked the Superpuff vest for the first(?) time this year since the low temps are finally in the 30s. Used to be my #1 article of clothing from 2020-2023. Feels like a warm hug.

I was born in the 90s and the first (possibly second, tbf) time I ever thought about Brigitte Bardot was after the "Me Too" kerfuffle in 2018. I've since separated the neckline from its namesake.

V convenient to say someone is your "idol" and claim not to know their notoriously rancid views but 🤷‍♀️.

Houston?!? ew I'm sorry you had to be here. IAH is the worst. the constant loops through passenger pickup to avoid being yelled at for idling for more than 2 minutes are...suboptimal.

They're mad at everyone but Taylor Sheridan who is the entire Paramount streaming lineup smh

Did a little clearance day shopping at Aldi (because I needed food and also random $0.59 holiday-themed foodstuffs) and randomly picked up a stoneware/ceramic travel mug with a terrazzo silicone sleeve.

I feel the ancients whisper to me as I drink my lil bevs, now. Water, mostly.

There have been nonstop fireworks since 11:59. I know Santa and Rudolph are flying over maybe the entirety of the South/Southeast (judging from all the complaints) mad as hell.

My cat now has another scary boom holiday that he hates. He is sleeping under me we are in a makeshift bunk bed.
December 25, 2025 at 6:08 AM
When did Christmas become a firework holiday??? Who is setting off fireworks on Christmas Eve?!?! Why.
December 25, 2025 at 5:32 AM
Just finding out that Lamarr Wilson passed, too. Sending little check-in texts to my funny friends real quick.

In retrospect, "Is It Cake?" was really the harbinger that tried to prime us for recognizing AI-generated images.
December 12, 2025 at 9:11 PM
... Talarico's biggest donor for his Texas House campaign was Miriam Adelson; y'all need a different line of attack. both candidates have screwy donors.

I have a strange active listening face when I hear Spanish and am trying to muster all of the forgotten language skills from 3 years of high school and some fruitless days of Duolingo. I can read it but I cannot speak it.

V earnestly trying to change so I stop giving off "Speak American!" vibes.

The common people are familiar with/have had health plans that require a PCP visit before they can be referred to a specialist.

And there are already on-call/private/members-only doctors, dentists, psych, and surgical practices.

Why are we pretending this isn't already the American system?
December 10, 2025 at 11:41 PM
Told my parents about the senate race; they may even vote in the primary (I will drag them to early voting). The old Black church folks (apparently) love Jasmine Crockett because she's a "fighter". who knew? (A lot of people. Most people. Everyone)
December 10, 2025 at 4:47 AM
That's the fun thing: she doesn't. She may need former Trump voters but she does not need the Trump faithful who will just blindly vote for Paxton/Cornyn/Hunt anyway. Texas is less than 40% white now. She just needs to win disillusioned latino voters and have higher turnout than 2024 for the rest.
December 9, 2025 at 5:37 PM
Sigh. Anyways, here is me with former/future House Rep. Colin Allred in Corpus last year. Fly high.
