Current attitude: This bird.

This was the only time I've successfully photographed a tufted titmouse.

October 2024 at the Ramble in Central Park NYC.

This downy woodpecker is so round I worry it's gonna fall off the tree.

Sometimes the tufted titmouse does want to pretend to be a blue jay.

Finally a good look at this tufted titmouse from afar, with my telephoto zoom lens. Handsome fella.

It's hanging out with the nuthatches, the chickadees, and the woodpeckers today.

I actually find this black-capped chickadee to be a bit intimidating, and a little like an onigiri (Japanese rice ball).

I guess it's dinner time.

Good news! I found not only one tufted titmouse today, but two. Unfortunately, sometimes it's still moving too quickly for me to stay in focus! I was following this little one from afar for a good half an hour :)

A sleepy great-horned owl at the wildlife refuge. Taken at quite a distance with a zoom lens so as not to disturb the bird.

Me: I love you and I love birds. Now I see your face in every bird I seek. You know, I think you look like a snowy owl!

As out of focus as this was, it's the FIRST TIME I caught a tufted titmouse on camera since October 2024!

My favorite bird of this size, with the best hairstyle.

I am so jealous.

@jrdawson.bsky.social could you add a snowy owl to the lighthouse as an addendum? Please?
THIS BIRD. I cannot *believe* I can see something this magnificent in walking distance from my home. I fucking love Chicago. #birds

The fun thing about lucid dreaming is that one could learn to try to control less of it because we aren't supposed to be defending so much during the day and also in our dreams

My museums are like the Louvre on a Tuesday.

I guard them like Rose Valland did with the Jeu de Paume during WWII.

Okay, stop looking at me. I need to focus.

Northern Flickers are pretty darn cute when they let you photograph them.
