Write a short scene, then delete the line(s) that best explain the motive, clarify the primary emotion, or state the theme. Then, rewrite the scene so that everything still makes sense without the removed line.

Take some time to reflect on your writing year. Write down what you worked on, how your writing habits changed, what challenged you, what surprised you, and what you’re proud of, not just in terms of output, but in terms of process (showing up, finishing things, taking risks, trusting yourself, etc)
