Today marks the first day in public media’s history without federal funding. And we’re not going anywhere.

so... lets say you wanted info. on housing assistance and went to a website like HUD.gov... this is what you're greeted with.
I'm always pleasantly surprised how little time I spend on here. I come in, scroll a bit, click on a few stories, reach the part of my feed I've seen before, and then.... I just leave.
It's quite sane.

It might be even more reason audiences turn to independent creators who are more nimble and can publish with less government leverage over their work.

The next evolution of a public media.
And it begins….
Do we really have to make this play out where politics dwarfs our public health and we quite literally create a patchwork of blue and red states with radically different outcomes for children based on vaccine skepticism?

The Dept. of Education has pulled funding for programs in 8 states that support students with both hearing and vision loss.

A staffer at one program says he was told the Trump admin. took issue with 2 words on the grant application: “transition" and “privilege": www.propublica.org/article/trum...
Screenshot of article excerpt: The Education Department also was concerned about other words in the application, said Adrian Klenz, who works with deafblind adults in the state. He said he has talked with state officials about the discontinuation of the grant.

“I was told that apparently the administration is going through past grants and two words were flagged: One was transition and one was privilege,” Klenz said. “Transition — transitioning from childhood to adulthood. Privilege came up because a parent wrote a glowing review of staff that said what a privilege it was to work with them.” ProPublica obtained a copy of the grant application and confirmed that those words were included.

" among radicalized individuals in the United States, those adhering to a left-wing ideology were markedly less likely to engage in violent ideologically motivated acts when compared to right-wing individuals. By contrast, we found no such difference between Islamist and right-wing individuals."
Violence is not the answer.
