The guy at the bottom of the screen is the catcher. He is pointing to the first baseman. That's a signal to the pitcher (the guy with the ball) to throwto the first baseman. If the pitcher follows that instruction, there's a good chance the team doesn't lose immediately.

The pitcher ignored it.
