Did you know stingrays have a face and legs? Uncanny, creepy or cute?

I want stuff like facebook groups but without all the ad money going to the wrong people. Besides, both the fb and instagram apps were killing my phone battery so I’ve uninstalled them.

I rage-quit my most recent online haunt (a web forum) the other day and thought i’d pop in on this account instead.

Dammit, when did I follow all these US politics accounts? Or did they all just turn into politics?

I just want to talk about silly everyday things. Where does one do that nowadays?

The placement on the store shelves can’t have been accidental.

(Copenhagen, Denmark)
Rows of novelty rubber ducks on a store shelf. The ducks to the left are a caricature of Trump, the ducks to the right are flipping the bird with the wing/hand closest to Trump.

FYI (if anyone is reading), I haven’t abandoned Bluesky. It’s just that I 800+ followers on my photo account and get 50 likes even on average photos (100+ on good ones), while this account has 123 followers and gets 0-1 likes on any post.

It’s simply more fun to post on the other one.
npeura.bsky.social
I’ve half abandoned this account because it turns out I’m not that interested in talking about politics after all.

So go check out my photos on my other account instead. Mostly nature, some curiosities, and no photos of pets (I don’t even have any). Link in my profile.

Ok so now that absurd man thinks he can put tariffs on foreign films?

How do you even do that? And in the age of VPN?
npeura.bsky.social
I started playing with feeds on my other account, and now I’m having too much fun looking at photos of moss to care about politics and all that.

När det finns hushåll som skjuter på att köpa nya vinterjackor till barnen är jag helt okej med att vänta ett år till med en renovering.
npeura.bsky.social
So, no tariffs for big tech. What about all those millions of Americans who were supposed to start screwing tiny screws in iphones? Are they all fired now?
npeura.bsky.social
There you have the problem. It’s supposed to slant toward the drain and have a lip at the door just in case. Sloppy builders, wouldn’t pass an inspection in Sweden.

And then there’s supposed to be a squeegee so you can mop it all up.

Sometimes I think about my Environmental History professor who said that anyone who doesn’t believe in climate change can leave his class and not come back.

Why is the #media playing Trump's game? Stop talking about 'negotiation'. This is economic terrorism. That's the extortionist's language. Would you use the words of a criminal to describe a court case? Stop playing his game. This is #Fascism. Act like it.

The problem with most machine-based random number generators is that they’re not TRULY random, so if you need genuine randomness it is sometimes necessary to link your code to an external random process like a physical noise source or the current rate of US tariffs on a given country.

I made a website about my special interest back in the 90’s. That way I could infodump whether or not anyone “listened”.

Oh and writing structured informational text also became a special interest.

(I haven’t been evaluated/diagnosed, but suspect some kind of ND)

I was a bit down last week and didn't post the photos I had already picked out for #4Art25

Here's the one for day 4, Minimalist Magic. It was my second silver piece ever back in 2007. A bit wonky (and the photo isn't great) but I like it.

#jewelryartisan #jewelryartist #silversmithing #handmade
A simple silver pendant with a green aventurine cabochon.

#4Art25 day 8, Gemstone spotlight.

I haven't done any settings with faceted gemstones (too fiddly), but garnet is commonly used as a gemstone and the beads in this statement ring are garnets.

2008, when I dabbled a bit in silversmithing.

#jewelryartisan #jewelrymaking #silversmith
A statement ring featuring a large flower formed out of silver sheet. 3 mm garnet beads are linked in chains and attached to the center of the flower, letting them spill out between the petals.

It’s so obvious Trump is in real estate, not trade and manufacturing.

Ooh, that will absolutely not make them increase the price of the pizzas to compensate. Right?
npeura.bsky.social
It’s not the delivery guy who pays the tariffs. It’s the employee who ordered the pizza who will have to pay their employer before the pizza can enter the building.

Often the delivery guy pays it so that they can drop off the pizza and go, but then they invoice you for the tariff AND their trouble.

Mine found only a peony 😄 It’s a nice peony though.

Nah, my Bluesky is 95% photos of sunsets, landscapes and fungi, because I spend 95% of my time on my other account, scrolling photos.

Feeds and lists are a good thing.

4am Bluesky was once about multigender thirst pics and now it's about the imminent global economic collapse and while I know that right now it really does have to be about the latter rather than the former let me tell you I liked it better when it was all about that first thing

Finally people are talking about this.

Yes, I know he doesn’t formally have the power now “except nobody is stopping him”. It shouldn’t be possible even with congress & senate backing him.

One man just wiped out $10 trillion in wealth, is destroying centuries-old legal protections, and seems determined to unravel humanity’s greatest public health achievement. In 3 months.

I don’t know how we get out of this. But if we do, one person can never have that kind of power again.

I was going to use this for #4Art25 day 3, April Showers, but changed my mind and used another one.

Now it fits both #BlueSkyMonday and #AlphabetChallenge #WeekOforOodles instead.

Made in 2007. These "caterpillar" bracelets were so popular back then. Basic description of the technique in ALT text.
A bracelet with fringes made of glass seed beads in frosted white and transparent blue. First, you string a number of slightly larger beads (like size 8/0 or 6/0 if you use seed beads) on flex wire, a few inches longer than your desired bracelet length. Fasten a clasp or jump ring in one end using a crimp bead, but leave the other end loose. Then sew the fringes with size 11/0 (or smaller) seed beads between each of the larger beads, using Fireline or similar thread. Sew as many fringes as you like or can fit. For a denser look, you can make the individual fringes branched with the coraling technique. You can adjust the length of the bracelet as you go by adding or removing beads from the flex wire. Once you're happy with the fringes and the length, finish it off by attaching the other half of the clasp to the open end of the wire, using a crimp bead.

Remember these? We called them wrap bracelets and they were all the rage in Sweden about 10-15 years ago. I liked making them with stone beads and vintage buttons, like this one.

#Art25 #EarthyTones #acoloradAyPRIL #pink #artyear #artisanjewelry
A bracelet that wraps twice around your wrist. It's made of two leather cords with a row of 4 mm stone beads in pink to grey and yellow tones woven between them using green silk thread. A silver colored button with inset faceted glass "gems" is used as a clasp.
