I think there should be special term for when you burn the roof of your mouth while eating #pizza.

My ideas so far:

Quattro lacerationi
Bruisetta
Gumma mia
Upper crust

Any other proposals?

Every #content creator has a few highlights — pieces that just worked.

One of mine was an article on #webdesign tips I wrote in 2018.

It consistently ranked #1 on Google for its keyword for years.

Not a bad one, 1,600 monthly.

Looking back, here’s why I think it performed so well: ⬇️

#Work should give life more meaning, not just earn a paycheck.

As humans, we're not built to spend 8 hours a day doing things we don’t care about.

We crave #purpose, creativity, connection — and contributing to something bigger than ourselves.

Thinking about working for yourself? Here are 7 great reasons to go for it.

Last week I shared some of the challenges of self-employment.

And yes, there are plenty.

But there’s a reason so many of us choose this path (and stick with it): the upsides are worth it. ⬇️

“What’s the hardest part about working for yourself?”

Someone who’s considering going freelance recently asked me this question.

I figured I’d share my answer publicly in case it helps others too.

So here it goes: ⬇️

Did you know: Mercedes-Benz initially translated its name in China as “to rush to die” (奔死).

It’s true. But it gets worse. ⬇️

I used to have a crippling fear of flying. Here’s what helped me — and how you can apply it to your own fears too.

It all started with a full-blown panic attack on a domestic flight in China.

It wasn’t a fun experience — especially since I had a 9-hour flight home ahead of me a few months later.

Of all the things to argue about online, the humble em dash (—) was not on my bingo card.

Some people think it’s a surefire tell of #AI writing.

Others say, “Excuse me—I was using em dashes when AI was still just a tech bro’s wet dream.”

Feeling overwhelmed?

Maybe you’re trying too much or looking too far ahead.

We’ve all heard that we should take it “one day at a time,” but even that can feel like too much.

Sounds familiar? Then here’s something worth trying:

Story time: My first #business was a failure.

In 2010/2011, after graduating university, I didn’t want to get a “real” job. It didn’t seem like my thing.

(I also didn’t really feel qualified for anything, but that’s another story.)

So I started a #startup instead — a vegan sports nutrition brand.

You’re not lazy, unmotivated, or broken.

Maybe your life just lacks meaning.

I'm looking for resources to help me improve in the "design" part of #webdesign.

I'm comfortable building websites, but want to get better at making design decisions. Think layout, typography, color choices, etc.

If you have any recommendations—books, courses, etc.—I'd love to hear 'em!

Psst, hey you. Wanna use an em dash ("—"), aka "the forbidden hyphen" like all the other cool kids?

Hold the Alt key, then type "0151" on your keyboard's numpad.

You're welcome.

(For its little cousin, the en dash, type "0150" instead.)

I just watched the presentation by @noeltock.bsky.social at #WCEU. He runs a charity rescuing dogs on the frontlines in Ukraine (Dog Help Kharkiv). Part of his talk were videos of his work and the work of other charities in the region. I genuinely teared up.

So, @netflix.com let me get this straight:

Because I am in another country where you don’t show ads, I can’t use my plan while traveling?

Plus, I can’t even watch the videos I downloaded at home anymore because I went online?
