Canada made weird tv shows because it was all being done with government funded art grant money so they fell in this wacky middle ground between “shoestring budget” and “no expectation to generate shareholder value” which is really the best way to make art

screenshot of a tumblr post from user “wildmansters” The thing that really boils my potatoes about Al in general is that I have been a creative professional for over a decade now and the devil has ALWAYS been in the details. Big and small, I've had single-person businesses rip me to shreds over how their colors turned out on newsprint, and have worked with huge companies with THICK brand guidelines with every detail of their brand identity laid out and enforced with an iron fist. But I guess all of that stuff doesn't matter anymore? Who gives a fuck if this Al generated baby has six fingers, that mom-and-pop shop is still going to use it. That rug from Temu says Happy Thanksgivirg? Oh well haha it's just a silly funny thing now (nevermind that you never would have given a B-grade item from a craft show the same consideration). I don't actually care that the Al Coca-cola ad has a truck that changes size every scene, but I can't help but think about how, if it had been some poor underpaid artist, they would have been laughed out of the building. I don't really know how to put it in a succint way but it just feels all the more obvious how much more grace and flexibility has always been possible but never offered.

Oh, yeah, NPC writing is the best. You can do worldbuilding, add a gameplay tip, or just invent a memorable weirdo. Or a whole city of weirdos. It's great.
A cafe worker says "buddy, there ain't nothing normal about putting titty milk in your coffee, but far be it for me to kink shame." A mouse in a shoe says, "Yeah, I live in a shoe. It stinks, but the rent is an absolute BARGAIN. A small mouse says, "Outa my way, nerd! Shoooom!" I once saw a god pick his nose and eat it. It was gross, but kinda humbling, y'know.

I truly don’t understand people who are like “I can’t give up this media, it’s meaningful to me.” I’ve dropped franchises I’ve loved, adored, poured time and money into, made copious fan works for, etc, over mere plotlines I didn’t like. If a creator has heinous politics, I’m gone lol.

Some vaccines like COVID and flu don’t stop completely stop infection.

But they do reduce the risk of getting infected and greatly reduce severe illness risk.

They are still worth getting.

Since they are not 100% effective it’s also wise to add another layer of protection by wearing a mask.

Chrono Trigger is my favorite game, an RPG with a great premise, combat, music and of course characters by the late Toriyama

Crono, posing with his trademark katana and smiling. He looks a bit more boyish than in the Toriyama design and overall looks like a less polished samurai in training with wilder hair. Hes a samurai fanboy that lives in the sticks with his mom so I wanted to make him look a bit less polished than his original design Crono, but now in female form. I really wanted the player to potentially have a choice in gender and then I wanted each one to have a different flavor. Female Crono is also a wannabe samurai but this one is more by the book, a bit more studious and maybe more into the proper sword forms. The hair is different but still hits the same vibe which is a mass of flowing red hair Since female Crono is a very new concept I wanted to explore her further so this sheet shows some expressions and poses for the character. These poses show a confident, playful person who enjoys life in a big way but can still be a badass when needed

It's extremely depressing that anime went from a more obscure medium to front and center mainstream during my lifetime, but this translated to the medium transitioning from "for fans by fans" to pure exploitative capitalism with us as the captive audience
