My hopes for 2026 is more spaces that ban or discourage phone use, especially recording. We got horrible social norms now, don’t know how to socialize, and should be more distrustful of devices in general.

I’m happy ppl are standing up against large companies and I hope it incentivizes a more empowering alternative — decentralization and active community labor/making of events, spaces, networks. It’s difficult but it’s more winnable, especially if place based (using No Shortcuts’s methodology).

Resurrection is def one of the best movies I’ve seen- but calling it “best” kind of cheapens it, as though it can be explained within hierarchy. It’s a spiritual fever dream of gentle observation and limitless dreaming. Recommend theater because of its impeccable sound design.
