thats just one example too theres so many games im sure i would love if they just had an art style that appealed to me. not saying they SHOULD cuz obv the world don't move to the beat of just one drum n all that but.... well selfishly ofc i wish they all appealed to me lol

im so picky about games because the art style is just... honestly i think its the absolute number 1 most important aspect of the game to me. i'm sure i would love palia gameplay wise but i just can't get into that art style....

the game does weather events based on the IRL day, but you could easily just say its a lengthier phenomenon in-lore and no one would give a shit. the game does NOT benefit in ANY way from having animal crossing style time and it only HURTS players that don't live in the same time zone as the server.

plants grow on a timer not based on day/night. NPCs are always available, don't sleep and don't need a day/night cycle. the ONLY thing that is based on IRL time is typical live service daily/weekly quests. Heartopia would just be straight up better if it had typical online game style day/night cycle

i'm actually really upset about the day night cycle being server time in Heartopia. it means that unless u live in the timezone of the server, you will always have desync'd IRL time and the game absolutely does NOT need a 1:1 IRL day/night cycle. it is NOT animal crossing i am baffled by this choice

the america server is east coast usa. 3 hours ahead of me. either i play my home server alone with desynced time, or i play with my friends on europe with even worse desynced time. why in god's name would u do an animal crossing style day-night when u tie it to server time ffs. what a fumble

heartopia is very cute but i hate it. server time dictates in-game day/night cycle and all my friends are european but i'm west coast usa. so basically no matter wat i pick the game will never sync with my time zone. you are also LOCKED into whatever server with no way to transfer. i'm out
