i would say this is taking me out but i fear someone beat me to it
octaspla2n.bsky.social
well i guess the woke college students won the debate huh
octaspla2n.bsky.social
its not that i dont trust them, i just think it was irresponsible and unethical

I haven't touched league in a year don't think it don't say it don't think it don't say it

but the idea of fearless drafting is genuinely super good, as long as u dont do bans 💀

And I would like if we could do more to push that for all the newcomers who are queer or neurodivergent, we're in very hard times politically rn and having a safe space is more important than ever. Maybe let's focus on that please
octaspla2n.bsky.social
Unrelated but in a similar vein, I actually haven't felt safe engaging or participating in the community for a bit over a year now due to bigotry. I know some communities have it worse but it used to be better, we used to be better and as a Trans Woman I don't feel its worth the mental stress

I genuinely fail to see what the Splat Safety response actually serves other than just stoking the fire for the victim. I'm not saying it's a completely dogshit response but in terms of ethics it's not the best. Gem hasn't been an active member for a year and I think the law should take care of it.

The only thing I will say:

I could not do what TOs do for Splatoon.

Volunteering your own time with the risk of being harassed and/or discriminated against is mind boggling to me. I don’t know how they do it but when they do leave, as we have seen many great people leave, I understand why.
octaspla2n.bsky.social
Oh yeah and anyone trying to harass, doxx dogpile or be an absolute ass to everyone on the committee y'all are just as bad if not more. It's super insensitive both for the people taking the time to make a response and to the victim as well

As someone who has been following everything closely since last year I can definitely say there was at least some information in there that wasn't public at all. A good chunk of it was sure, but not all of it
octaspla2n.bsky.social
But it sure as hell is morally dubious and after watching the whole thing I don't know what the goal of this was. I'm not shitting on anyone here, no shade to slowpoke or everyone on the team.

I'm just asking why.

This kind of response should've been made with the consent of the victim, it's actually wild that there was literally a comment from the victim saying they disagreed with this.

Also some people are playing lawyers in the replies and that's just as bad. It's not "illegal" for them to do a video.

s1 had best stage design and even if the specials were really strong it was so much fun, the game also had the best pacing in the series imo

s2 had okay map design but terrible dogshit specials except like 3,

splatoon 3 has terrible map design but decent specials and ofc weapon variety

after almost 3 years of s3 this is how i feel about all of the games (multiplayer only)

Prohibition was a failure because of exactly that, the cultural mythos and the social stigma around it. Even if it wasn't entirely negative across the board, it resulted in more risk from illegal distribution and public outrage, it's the same as laws on marijuana or now, the UK online act
octaspla2n.bsky.social
It just depends on how laws are used. Given the current political climate it's very hard to trust governments, especially western ones with anything that relates to censorship. To me, it's a slippery slope and a very obvious one at that, that could end up banning certain minorities from the public

real ones cried while making their message
Image of the Undertale textbox with a sprite of a brown haired girl wearing a blue winter coat and holding a heart in the colors of the trans flag. The text reads "UNDERTALE came out when I was a boy, now I'm a girl, it showed me that I can be who I truly am. Thank you. The confines of this textbox cannot put into words how I truly feel."

super disappointed hunter schafer wasnt cast idk if the rumour about them looking to cast her were true but if they were and they decided to not go through with it to "avoid discourse" that really sucks
