Is craftivism performative? Yes. That's the point. Resistance includes a public demonstration of opposition at accessible events with a low barrier to entry.

The red resistance hat pattern has raised $300k for the people of Minnesota. That's not effective?
Angela, the pussy hats weren't very effective. Knitting is cool, especially if you put resistance messages in it, but it's not resistance. It's performative. It's only actually effective if you're a spy and putting messages in or something. Otherwise it's a hobby, and the pussy hats were just silly.

Husband told me about this earlier tonight and I was like "Matt the transmisogynist?" but no, it's "female presenting nipples" guy!
He’s best known in internet lore for
his infamous 2018 “female presenting nipples” memo. Now he will ensure democracy doesn’t die in darkness www.buzzfeednews.com/article/remy...

I’m gonna have to quilt this with an orange peel pattern, aren’t I?
Well, those look more like oranges now don’t they. #fandommarket

Without naming your job, tell me something you say over and over again at work.

“What exactly are you trying to learn from this?”
Without naming your job, tell me something you say over and over again at work.

“No whole, live things.”

"No, you can't leave that here."

Took the dogs out for walks and survived! Actually, my Carhartt knock off is so warm that everywhere it covered was too hot. My eyes and the exposed skin around them are very cold. We put two layers on Meatball and he seemed fine.

I'm sorry the guy changing the rules on the fly is named what
I stand with County Executive Calvin Ball as he signs emergency legislation today prohibiting privately owned buildings from being used as ICE detention centers.

Howard County chose dignity, accountability, and its people. Tune into our event now:

“No beta I die” I don’t think that’s how the tag is supposed to go.

Couldn't put it off any longer, especially since we're supposed to get another deep freeze over the weekend so I got to slip and slide over the ice hillocks in the back yard to go whack the compost bin open so I could put the kitchen waste in it. Fun!

Local parent: Are there any Unitarian summer bible camps in this area?

Other local parent: Have you tried the Baptists?

No, I suspect that the first parent is not interested in the VBS at the Baptist church.

Ha, I had to say something. Two starlings on the platform feeder. I expect they'll clear that out.
Topped up all the bird feeders while it was nice - since it's supposed to get nasty over the weekend again - and the local birds are pleased.

Interesting what birds I haven't seen the last two weeks. The local house sparrow flock: only once that I recall. No starlings at all.

The all round one looks way more like an orange, doesn’t it. I’m going to have to do another 40 quarter circles.

Today's hyper-specific question for my farm friends -- when it's winter, and you have an animal with horns who's been outside for a while, do the horns cool down with the weather so they're chilly to the touch, or is there enough bloodflow/connection to the body that they're warm, or does it depend?

I use a browser add-on for FB that hides a lot of the shit so that I can at least only see posts from sources I follow, not the endless argument people have in other people's posts etc. However, FB has changed their code so posts people comment on are showing up again and it fucking sucks.

Absent neighbor said she was going to try to get back to town next week so since it was warm I decided to tackle the plow spoils in her driveway. Went faster than I thought it would and I'm really hoping that a bunch more melts off through the afternoon now that the pavement is exposed.
