Really incredible story unraveling in this thread, where Amazon and other sites have seemingly been able to sell an academic textbook that was withdrawn in 2021 and never actually printed or published, without the knowledge of the press, editors or contributors. Something has gone deeply wrong!
Hi Chloe,
This is news to me (and to my editor at Routledge.) I'm shocked to find this out. I assume that this is somehow a pirated edition. Does it include the section on Neurodiversity? Part VIII?

By the mid-1930s, Mary Dawson Elwell had emerged on the British art scene as a painter of interiors, or more strictly, 'portrait interiors,' she described these works as ones in which the sitters are 'often as subsidiary to the whole effect as some other object in the room.'

There's a great double bill on iPlayer; Michael Powell's hebridean melodrama The Edge of the World, followed by retrospective documentary Return to the Edge of the World, featuring some lovely footage of John Laurie and Michael Powell returning to the island of Foula to reconnect with the community.

Transphobia is simply the belief that "woman" means "cis white skinny conventionally attractive femme woman who can have kids."
That's really it.
That's really it.
Just watched a judge misgender a cis woman lawyer multiple times even after I used her correct pronouns because she doesn't appear stereotypically femme.
Cool cool. 🙃

Delighted and quite astonished to see that BBCFour begins screening Cyril Aldred’s documentary series, TUTANKHAMUN’S EGYPT, next week. Made to accompany the British Museum’s 1972 TREASURES OF TUTANKHAMUN exhibition, the 13x20min episodes haven’t been seen since their original broadcast. #Egyptomania

1/2. £3 present to myself - a 1960 edition of M. Sasek’s ‘This is London’. I love the audacity with which Sasek introduces the book with the London smog (it dominates the front and end papers, too). It was first published 3 years after the 1956 Clean Air Act.
