It’s simple, direct, and already used online and in gaming. It has this strong vibe of “fixing” or “modifying” people within YAKEMY’s context. And it also works nicely as street slang — something that should be pulsating in this universe we’re building.

But something still felt off… So, while the game is still in development, I’m going to take a small risk and try some changes — and I’d love your thoughts. I really don’t want to use ripperdoc or similar terms… and I started thinking that “patcher” might fit the idea of YAKEMY really well.

…for some reason they didn’t fit the narrative I wanted for this game. At first, I used the word “biomechanic,” not because of what the actual science represents, but because in my mind it made sense for a mechanic (of machines) to also work with biology (bodies), right?
