Amaranth Vel'Thyrn Race: Asmodeus Tiefling Age: 26 Class: Druid (Circle of the Moon) Background: Fey Lost Alignment: Neutral Good Personality Type: ENFP Pronouns: She/Her Sexuality: DemiPansexual Love interest: Astarion Best Friends: Karlach and Wyll Traits: Playful Optimistic Nurturing Empathetic Resilient Flaws: Abandonment Anxiety Too Trusting Conflict Avoidannt Overly Self-Sacrificing Amaranth was born into the world of the Feywild. A powerful Archfey unexpectedly approached her parents as her mother was ready to give birth, with an offer to save her and her mother's lives. But its magic came with a heavy price. Her mother would be forever bound to the Feywild, the consequence if she ever tried to flee would be the very life she was given a second chance at. Amaranth's parents agreed to the deal with the Archfey, and keeping true to its word, Amaranth was born a happy and healthy child. After some years have gone by, and after proving herself, she is gifted with druidic powers by the Feywild. Amaranth's parents were overjoyed the Feywild chose her. But sadly, they also recognized that she needed to find the right mentor and a circle eager to accept her as one of their own in order for her to unlock her full potential. Amaranth refused. Terrified of leaving them and the only home she had ever known. It took months of back and forth, and arguments that ended pretty much the same way, but they eventually talked her out of staying. Character Inspirations: Keyleth from Vox Machina Ella from Disney's Cinderella 2015 Persephone from Punderworld Aerith from Final Fantasy 7 Amaranth’s Playlist: “Brighter Days” by Patty Gurdy “Wonderland” by Kalandra “Dream” by Priscilla Ahn FeyShadow Playlist: “Caught In A Cloud” by Emily Evans “Forgotten Love” by AURORA “You Are The Moon” by The Hush Sound Amaranth stumbled across a group of shadow druids in the Material Plane shortly after she left, who promised to help her. They saw how eager and vulnerable she was, and also her potential as a weapon. Preying on her loneliness and her wish to free her family. More years go by. The time comes for her to perform a ritual that is meant to mark the end of her training. When something goes horribly wrong. The spell demanded a sacrifice, something she had no idea of until it was too late. The sacrifice included not just the life of the grove, but also the death of her only and closest friend she's ever had. Everything she had believed up until that moment was destroyed the moment her friend drew her final breath. When she refused to follow any more of their orders, they captured her. Forcing her to perform dark shadow magic that caused her an immense amount of pain each time she cast them. After a year of suffering and being trapped in a cage, she attempts to escape one stormy night. The chase lasts for most of it, until there's nowhere left for Amaranth to run once she's cornered. It's like a switch, and all her grief and anger finally unleashes as her wild magic surges for the first time. By the time Amaranth regains control, the only thing left is a pile of burnt corpses and ash around her. Amaranth now wanders Faerûn searching for a true path to harness her druidic powers for good so she may be able to break the curse on her parents one day, reuniting with them, as well as help others who were once powerless like her.

Amaranth loves taking long soaks in natural water sources. Like in gentle, clear streams or beneath waterfalls. Or flower baths once she discovers them in the Material Plane, which keep her skin soft. She also uses oils for her hair and horns.

Mary Blair inspired patterning of bg3 characters fanart. 5 columns total, column 1 going down: split Orin design, Lae’zel, simplified sword coast, and what’s supposed to be a night orchid but could also be interpreted as a Susser flower. Column 2: leaf/tadpole design, Shadowheart (Shar) split, the artifact, basic triangle design, Minthara. Column 3: bg3 logo, wyll, blanks space, my Tav, silhouette design if the emperor. Column 4: leaf/tadpole design, Karlach, vague but a little fire symbol that’s supposed to reference Karlach but in hindsight can represent ignis or fireball, spear of night, Halsin. Column 5: gale, semi circle design, Astarion, Raphael, Shadowheart, three swords that are actually Lae’zel’s sword but i shrunk and duplicated them for the design.
