No, it means he and his cronies have made their money through market manipulation in the hours leading up to the announcement. The threat has been wrung out so no point in leaving it hanging out there and having to follow through. Nice little earner.

And more worrying, reposts so the lies are spreading.

Unless of course it's deliberate misinformation knowing either way it won't be interrogated by the US media.

That is deranged on just so many levels. Don't the people around him check his output to stop clear evidence of senility leaking out?

Truss discovered that local radio hosts don't give a monkeys about losing the goodwill of senior MPs like the journalists on the Westminster beat do, fearing loss of access if they go too hard on them.

I stand corrected. I thought it was Kent.

Great clip from KCC leader. Funny how quickly Reform people turn into a quivering puddle of incoherence as soon as they are subjected to even the mildest interrogation. It's like listening to someone who's only ever read or watched things they agree with and the notion of challenge is beyond them.

This is why we need the equivalent of Ireland's Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) with the power to seize personal assets derived from criminal acts (subject to a court order, on the balance of probability and even if they have been gifted away). Fraudulently marking goods as CE is a criminal act.
Will UK taxpayers get their £122m back from PPE Medpro?
The high court told the company linked to Michelle Mone to pay up over the supply of defective gowns, but there appears no clear route to reclaim the funds

Absolutely. 💯% agree. People who live outside the UK should have no say in setting govt tax and spending policy. And votes for everyone in the UK with legal residency.

They won't because UK emigrants like to run home to the NHS for even routine healthcare.

Is there any truth to the tale of Hinaut arriving at a race with a friend and trailer and taking the very valuable bull he won away with him, much to the chagrin of the sponsor who would normally pay the winner a few hundred quid to take the bull off the winners hand and re-donate it the next year?

I steadfastly refuse to use any of these platforms. I'd rather the slight inconvenience of collecting my own dinner and know 100% of my money ends up in the takeaway's till. Same goes for Uber, Air BnB and Booking dot com.

That's going on the list to get me through the barren months between now and February.

Indeed, but Johnson charged through and blocked the door from being closed again. Had Johnson not opted for self-interest over national interest (and what he truly believed) I think the referendum would have gone the other way and the Tory party would not be in the current state of collapse.
olddogandgrump.bsky.social
TBH I think the charlatan that destroyed the Tories was Johnson. I don't believe for one minute he wanted Brexit but having submitted the article he did he felt complelled to follow through or admit he was wrong. Hollowing out the party of anyone except Brexit absolutists is all his work.
olddogandgrump.bsky.social
Oh yes!

Labour have to shout from the rooftops that Farage is the father of Brexit, the Tories the incompetent midwife.

Indeed. Deliciously pointed remark from the Academy today implying authoritarians are the enemy of peace. Trump has to enforce this deal and keep his nose clean at home if he wants to be considered.
olddogandgrump.bsky.social
I give it a week after the last hostages are out before Netanyahu comes up with an excuse to break the ceasefire. He's in trouble domestically and needs the distraction to avoid ousting and jail.
olddogandgrump.bsky.social
If there is a Trump Tower Gaza built that will be his reward and monument.
olddogandgrump.bsky.social
AND overseen they complete reconstruction of Gaza without so much as a red cent passing across his or any American paws.

Trump can feck off. There have been two Nobel prizes for architects of Israel/Arab/Palastine peace deals that ultimately fell apart. If this deal is still intact in five years time he can be considered if he's enforced peace and kept Netanyahu and the Israeli right in their box.
olddogandgrump.bsky.social
I can't wait to see the fit of pique if he doesn't get the Nobel Prize because it was decided before he bulldozed his way into the talks.

Plus I don't see this deal lasting much beyond the hostage release so no prize for settling Gaza peace for at least a few years to show the deal holds.
olddogandgrump.bsky.social
It's time for the release of Assassins Creed - Birth of a Nation. That should keep them happy.
olddogandgrump.bsky.social
I propose a deal: Trump leaves office in exchange for not being impeached for corruption. And he avoids jail time by promising to avoid any media of any description.

Some of these people owe so much to the banks if they are flagged and the net closes on them the bank could become insolvent very quicky. It's how Trump has operated - owe a bank enough and threaten to default their vaults open up to you.
